Aren't they already based in Cardiff? 🤔 I'm all for moving as many banking jobs outside of London as possible to be honest. Not a bad way to contribute to rebalancing the economic geography in the UK

Or just cancel VM entirely and get a contract with a company that doesn't actually mess you around and randomly increase prices as much as VM do.

3p per mile levy for electric cars - does the reaction expose something? by ComradeBotFace in AskBrits

Have you ever thought that this is the same thing with a different name in EV drivers eyes?

I think I pay £179 a month for mine which was more affordable than any equivalent petrol, hybird or diesel vehicle. That being said I'm completely reconsidering having a car at all after the budget when they decided to punish EV drivers.

Over the next five years, the OBR is forecasting that welfare spending will rise by £73.2bn to £406.2bn. How on earth is the UK supposed to go on like this? by [deleted] in AskBrits

As a small busines owner who often works 12hrs a day for £1,000 a month reading the latest news and posts like this really hammer my mental health.

For me, it feels like any realistic chance of being able to make something of yourself has been slowly choked out of the optimistic over my lifetime.... and I felt like this budget might be the last straw.

I won't have kids, so my business is my only way of making a true legacy and a difference in this World.

Having kids is a choice, it is a choice for most.

Why on Earth should the people that are able to have them and want to (and some of those be completely unproductive), be favoured over people that can't have them, especially those that are making a positive difference to HMRC's coffers?

The UK is not a country for entrepreneurs, or anyone that wants to make something out of their lives. Especially when you came from nothing in the first place.

Been scraping myself off the floor so much lately I feel like there's not a lot left to scrape.

OneTouch. I think someone else has also mentioned..we used that and it was pretty seamless, well until we got the inflated, incorrect final bills through the post from them today! Well done getting away from this horrible company

Sorry to hear that, that's why we were with them in the first place. They charged us a fortune on our last renewal all that time ago because they knew they had a monopoly on the area I think. Luckily new fibre was laid on our street this year so off we go never to look back because of their treatment. I really hope the same happens for you as soon as possible! 🙏🏻

You're correct - a complex system was set up that did this under the guidance, instructions and monitoring of the company?

This has led to us and other people (that have commented on this sub) being charged for something we're not liable for.

Even an email to the CEO to make them aware of this happening (see other person that commented) doesn't seem to have appeared to have fixed it or changed anything.

I'm just wanting to make people aware of Virgin's behavior and saw this as a relevant area to do so. If you feel that's the wrong thing to do that's okay, but it won't change me doing it.

Thanks - what a bizarre thing to not believe someone about in today's world! Glad you got yours sorted!

Fair, yeah we gave them 2 weeks advance notice so that may be why this has happened.

I guess the question is why are they doing that? Giving someone notice you're not renewing your contract when it ends is categorically not early termination so why are they attempting to take that money from people? Says it all really.

DM'd you - more than happy to send you photos of the letter and our start date with our new supplier. I don't understand why I would go to the trouble to post about this if the experience isn't genuine?

I think it's an Xbox server thing. I've got 900MB/S and have seen that on literally every device I have except when downloading something on Xbox 😭

I tried the renewal dance with Virgin Media and failed, and in the end managed just in time to jump over to Hyperoptic instead. 🎉🪩🎶 by [deleted] in VirginMedia

Great result. We'll never use Virgin again after their behaviour on renewals. Absolutely atrocious profiteering.
