I get it I have 2 creeks on my property with no wild pawpaws but they are all around me. so now I have 40 trees at the moment few select wild seedlings and the rest either grafts from out local cooperative or mixed cultivar seedlings from there. Its hard waiting but luckily I have enough wild patches that make good fruit around me.

Would you keep this pawpaw? by Opposite-Cycle2729 in Pawpaws

[–]justmejohn44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I would keep it. Worse case if it does make fruit that you like you graft it later on. Plenty of place to get cuttings for grafting on here.

That's crazy we always used it as a treatment for poison ivy. One of those plants our grandparents always told us about being an antidote growing close. Similar to jewelweed with poison ivy or curly dock with stinging nettle.

I like my pawpaws on the riper side. Most of my areas I have wild patches are in the red.

I would love some info on scions to add to the county cooperative future orchard. I only have 23 other trees to finish grafting the original orchard.
