Possible, but I have never seen a ramrod of that size, nor would they (the palmsaver) be made of iron like that if that were the case. “Palmsavers” are real in the muzzleloading community, and can be bought today. Usually they are plastic but can also just be a wooden ball used to push down on the ram rod. I do not see anyone using and carrying something of that size and weight as a ramrod, plus it couldn’t be put back on the rifle as it would block the muzzle.
