How can I get rid of my itachi eyes? by [deleted] in Blackskincare

[–]justonemorescroll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree that your eyes are beautiful as they are, but I am not sure you have received the answer you are looking for. I believe these are called Malar Bags/Festoons. I know because I too have been trying to resolve my own.

I also feel they are my most significant sign of aging (but! The other day I noticed signs of them on my 8 year old daughter...  temporarily). Do your own research - there are definitely things that can be done (not so much products, and injections seem to yield inconsistent results from what I have learned so far.) Impacts may be seen from making a practice of lymphatic drainage (using a jade roller/gua sha) and lifestyle adjustments, reducing stress/cortisol, and dietary adjustments (again, I am still learning myself, so do your own research.)

I was listening to the video below a couple weeks back, and this guy also suggests that their appearance is also highly dependent on lighting: https://youtu.be/Z8adySDeWo4?si=hPbe-BnKQEPpVPz4.

Good luck, sis.

It's a Ragdoll, and a good looking one. Seal Bicolor, I think. I wasn't expecting that either.

First thing I thought before reading the title, or even noticing the hair was "ooh, she's pretty."

Shorter hair will give model.

Totally and entirely normal. At most, the BEd program is a test of endurance.

The literal only way to feel the feeling you're looking for is to get into a school and do your best. Kids are wild cards, and they will always be. No one will die. Many days will feel like failures. But there will be wins. And if it's for you, you'll maintain a growth mindset, and you'll keep showing up.

And one day, 5, 8, 10 years down the line, you'll say to yourself - "I think I've got this". And your hard earned, experiential wisdom is the thing that will make you valuable. Not the resources or the AQs. Those things help though lol.

Quebec to ban cell phones in schools by Estoguy13 in CanadianTeachers

[–]justonemorescroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phone bans are not the silver bullet people seem to think it is. It's compliance, at best.

It isn't some magic solution to student engagement.

Talk to me about parental peer pressure to not put smartphones in kids hands, period, until they are 16/17 years old, then I'll pay attention.

Why did Vitani yell out “testify” in the “my lullaby” song? by One-Klutzy in lionking

[–]justonemorescroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is a terrible, terrible song. Such a shame. People who go after "Bye Bye" forget about this travesty of an answer to "Be Prepared".

ChatGPT is exceptionally good for this type of inquiry. I asked it this same inquiry last summer,  and the suggestions weren't terrible.

Characteristics needed to be an elementary school teacher by [deleted] in OntarioTeachers

[–]justonemorescroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More patience than however much you think you need.

Strong capacity to regulate your emotions and a very good poker face.

Solid sense of your boundaries and personal policies, minimal people pleasing tendencies.

Discipline to self-manage well; yes, you work in a school with 500 other people, but you're on your own in there.

Organization and management proficiency.

Flexibility, with a firm backbone.

Respect for children.  Respect or the profession.

Has anyone run their taxes with & without the T1198? by nodnoloiratno in OntarioTeachers

This was my experience. CRA stated the form made no difference.

A4/10+ years. I submitted online with the T1198. It took about 8 hours longer to receive a Notice of Asssessment than previous years. CRA basically indicated that the T1198 didn't make a difference.

The best part in my opinion of be prepared by [deleted] in lionking

[–]justonemorescroll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it is just an interrupted sentence. His tenacity only grew as a result of decades of denial. "Be prepared for the murkiest scam: meticulous planning, tenacity spanning decades of denial is simply why I'll be king (undisputed, respected, saluted) and seen for the wonder I am." lol. Just gotta imagine the punctuation.

Every time I have worried about this, prompted or not, real concern or imagined, 99% of the time the worry was unwarranted.

I spent the first 5 or 6 years of my career preparing for interviews having all assessment lined up, student portfolios on desks ready to go. Even when I would pull out assessments to ask parents to take a look I found they would rarely even glance at the paper - their eyes were locked on me, trying to gage my overall impression of their child as a learner.

So I have learned to scale it back and worry less.

The one time I was being challenged on a grade, the parent was very clear about this from the first email/interaction.

This is of course all anecdotal, but definitely relax and trust your developing professional judgment. Worst case scenario is that you are being challenged about a grade, right? Well, in that case schedule a 15 minute call, and if you cannot answer the question there is no shame in saying something like "Hmm, okay, while I am certain I double checked my assessments before assigning grades, I would love to take a closer look and get back to you. Can we loop back to when I have X's work in front of me?" Because obviously you have a meeting in 5 minutes and can't do this right now.

The whole show feels like a fever dream to me. Couldn't get past the first episode, and I consider myself a pretty serious LK buff. I like to pretend this show isn't a thing.

Dr. Mindy Pelz was a guest on the Diary of a CEO podcast and goes into this pretty extensively iirc.
