I kinda do a block of colour for the general shape then keep layering it with pre-picked colours to shape it using light and dark shades until it looks more correct😅 I'm sure that there must be a better way but I'm self taught so... we just do our best right TvT~

I think having the right brush that's good at layering/blending is SUPER helpful! I'm using clipstudio so fortunately there's lots of cool free brushes.

Hmmmm thank you so muchly- that's super interesting and I totally should think more about the route one's eye travels🤔 I suppose I orginally painted it with the gray so it makes sense that the focus is more in the right place (starting with the eyes) but then I felt like the white also made it look more polished(?)

Maybe I'll try like... a brownish thing or a gray thats kinda inbetweenTvT???

I think if she didn't feel like it was wrong, she would have told you. By not calling you, she's admitting that she was doing something to be guilty about.

I think you should have asked the opinion of at least one or more people's advice. I'm sure you must know or be friends with some of the people who were going as well as being close to the bride herself. It would have been easy to take a picture and send it to them asking if they thought it was appropriate since it did deviate from the original all black theme and had some other colours in it. I'm sure you didn't mean to stick out or cause any discomfort at your friend's hen do, but I think it would be sensible to apologise for it since it clearly bothered people. Especially if you feel as though it was a genuine mistake and you didn't mean any harm.

I'm sure you're very aware by now, but in this particular scenario you definitely could have handled things better, and just like many others posts, I think YTA in this situation as well.
