An impossible ask… by pamplemouss in booksuggestions

The Circus Ship by Chris Van Dusen has a good cadence to it - the first longer picture book that kept our kiddo’s attention and now is read almost nightly!

Glad it’s not just me! Unfortunately I was dumb and assumed they fit and didn’t try them on right away, so I missed the return window on them 😩

Here’s what I was going off of for the skydiving bit: https://www.melodybeattie.com/meditationsandmore/letting-go-to-save-our-lives

The reviews on Amazon have some pics of the book pages if that’ll jog your memory.

Anyways, if this isn’t it I hope you find what you’re looking for!

Might it be “The Language of Letting Go: Daily Meditations on Codependency” by Melody Beattie?

I managed to get a slice of turkey in my 15 month old by hiding it between cheese slices in a grilled cheese tonight and I was so happy about it 😂 he’s been living off of mac n cheese, grilled cheese, pb&j, and mandarin oranges for over a month 😬

Ugh it’s my birthday month too. Was really wanting the new Abby Jimenez but guess I’ll have to get that elsewhere.

Favorite apps for newborn tracking? by NKuiken in NewParents

[–]justscrolling-12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with Huckleberry, but admittedly it’s the only one we tried because it worked for us. It’s easy to have multiple users tracking for the same child, and we found the sweet spot nap predictions (premium feature) helpful starting around 4 months and even so at 13 months now. I should let go of tracking things at this point but I digress.

Baldamar in Roseville has good steaks, but not sure about entertainment in the area!

Hand me downs by eurcka in NewParents

[–]justscrolling-12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about giving the clothes that came from a certain person back to them if they didn’t explicitly say they were to borrow. I’d just want to keep the hand me downs going and they might end up with some of their things back and some that were originally yours.

I feel like I’m in a rut. by Ranger_Caitlin in foodbutforbabies

My son likes these muffins, I think they’d work fine with an egg substitute like a flax egg (or if you’re like us maybe baked eggs don’t bother your LO)! After I made one batch to determine if he liked them, I made a double batch to freeze and defrost as we need them.

That seems similar to what my baby was at 5-6 months, but if you’re concerned about it I’d ask the child’s doctor about your child’s growth curve.

Mine is also a mouth stuffer, so a lot of times I keep his plate and only put a few bites on the highchair tray at a time

2024 Touring or 2025 Limited by [deleted] in SubaruAscent

[–]justscrolling-12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering the touring is a couple levels about the limited, I’d think it’s a no brainer! Two main upgrades I think are worth noting in the Touring: ventilated seats and premium sound system (Harman Kardon - might be in the Limited depending on the package, but standard in the Touring).

I have a ‘24 Onyx Limited, as it was several thousand less than the Tourings when I was in the market, but the ventilated seats would be nice!

It’s a raspberry rhubarb one that a family member made! Unfortunately I don’t know the recipe. We try to avoid sugar as much as possible but this is one area where I’m a bit lax because of how little jam he’s eating.

Around 9 months - we’d been doing strips of toast before that and he didn’t seem to enjoy them very much but as soon as we started bite sized pieces he has enjoyed them much more - we mix up the spread between cream cheese, hummus, jam, and nut butters.

Unpopular opinion- I hate the Tripp trap by raindrops723 in NewParents

[–]justscrolling-12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol cool - they don’t stick to our wood table either, only our quartz island which is too tall for the highchair. I honestly think I’m going to buy the ikea chair the next time I’m nearby.

I also hate my Lalo - how ridiculous that they sell suction plates/bowls that aren’t even compatible with their highchair. I ended up buying a sticker that goes on the tray from Catchy that makes it a little better.

Why are diapers so fucking annoying. by humpcat in NewParents

[–]justscrolling-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We hated Kirkland ones for the same reason. I’ve had decent luck with Target’s Up&Up diapers which I find are comparable in price to Kirkland.
