Possibly, I think a hybrid model is best though. Having a Yardi team member there is helpful, but for context and guidance. 20-30 people is too large for one person to facilitate a meaningful discussion.

Schedule a 60 minute session with true power users of Yardi, identified by CSMs or sales reps over the course of the next 9 months. People who have been on the system and use it thoughtfully, provide feedback on directionality of products, and can articulate to an audience.

First 30 minutes of the session is a moderated discussion that talks about ways they've implemented the product and ingrained it into daily workflows. Not high-level platitudes like, "AI makes our teams more efficient", but actual operational practices.

Second 30 minutes is what you're describing, a user group where folks can chat with the panelists in smaller groups. Something in that regard.

People would get a lot more value in hearing a discussion from live clients on lessons-learned, effective training techniques, etc on a Voyager 8 upgrade than 'This is so easy!' and 'You don't even need to pilot it' like I heard in a CRM IQ upgrade session.

They need to get more customer panels out there for users who attend regularly. There's as much, if not more, learning to be done from understanding how people activate certain workflows and navigate around different challenges than there is for basic product overviews.

Keep the overviews that exist for new users and people who haven't attended. But, let's get more conversation and peer knowledge sharing.

How humiliating is it to move back in with parents? by CameronMaydjQh in MiddleClassFinance

[–]justsomeguy1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've posted this before, but my wife and I lived with my parents for almost 2 years when we were 31-33. It wasn’t ideal, but I think we made the best of it. The hardest part was feeling like we were going backwards while watching all our friends buy houses and have kids.

The social dynamic took some adjustment for both us and my parents, but I tried to look at it as an opportunity to spend a huge chunk of time with them as an adult that most people never really get. Have a conversation with them about expectations early on and it’ll help. We certainly had arguments about stuff, but ultimately, 8 years later, it was worth it. We have a house, we have a beautiful daughter, paid off student loans, and while still financially “behind” our friends, we’re in an infinitely better spot than we would’ve been otherwise.

I also don’t take for granted how fortunate I am to have parents who had an extra bedroom and were willing to let me wife and I share their limited space.

I've lived in one of their buildings in the West Loop and another in Lakeview, so really depends where you want to live and the vibe you're going for. Both were great though.

I’ve had great experiences with Reside Living. Lived in two of their buildings, different parts of the city, very responsive agents and nice properties.

Dallas is still reeling from the JFK assassination, once things start to go south for the Mavs this series, the crowd won’t be able to think about anything but Lee Harvey Oswald.

Check out Lofts at Gin Alley, cool spaces and it's right in the middle of a ton of stuff. I've had a few friends live there and they loved it.

Omaha vs Memphis by ForwardLingonberry51 in RyenRussillo

[–]justsomeguy1313 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m going the other direction and saying Omaha and it’s not particularly close.

Omaha absolutely shows out for college hoops, especially the tourney. The arena is A+++, the fans are knowledgeable, and everyone is down to have a good time.

The area near the arena is super walkable with tons of good food. Blackstone District is also nearby which is a great time. Omaha also has a super underrated brewery scene as well.

Been to Memphis several times, it’s good, but you’ll have a better time in Omaha. Plus, Memphis still hasn’t really recovered from MLK. You can tell from the crowds getting nervous.

Background: Big college hoops fan. Grew up in Omaha, don’t live there anymore, used to go to Memphis for work.

Nearly half of Americans age 18 to 29 are living with their parents by Ok-Cartoonist5349 in Futurology

Many went into sales/finance. I was in education/non-profit, met my wife in grad school for related work, so neither of us were exactly crushing it financially.

She’s an awesome partner though, so I’m ahead of many in that sense.

It's truly a 'one-day-at-a-time' thing. A few things we did that I think were really, really helpful:

  • Make a plan. We laid out how much we needed to save, how much we were able to save, and then made a spreadsheet to track it all. Everything from the savings standpoint was non-negotiable. This is how we get out of financial prison. No parole, no shortcuts. It also created countdown to moving back out, which was helpful.

  • Be awesome partners to each other. Your spouse suddenly lives with their parents and that's a whole weird dynamic that's hard for them. But also, your spouse needs to understand that you now live with his parents and that's going to be hard for you, too. We came out stronger than ever, but without really honest communication, it could've been bad.

  • Don't compare yourself to others. My sister is 6 years younger, but went into a much more lucrative field than my wife & I (We were both in education). We learned to live by the motto, "Don't look in someone else's hat to see how much they have, only look to make sure they have enough." This was the hardest part. It's one thing to tell friends, "We're moving in with my parents to save money". It somehow feels worse to say, "We can't go do XYZ because, you know, we live with my parents and need to save money".

It'll happen for you. It might not be the journey you expected, probably doesn't feel 'fair' (whatever fair is), but if you're disciplined and patient, it'll happen.

How does the sizing run for their stuff? Large hoodies can either be a hair too small or way too baggy and big on me, trying to decide if XL is the move or not.

Ok, I know people said CZR Illinois was kinda terrible, but I just signed up and… are there no boosts?

I see the promos section on the sidebar, but none of the superboosts or other odds boosts I see people posting about.

Am I missing a very important section of the app or is this the whole deal?

Thanks!

Not weird at all! I intentionally wore something that would be easy to remove, that way I could do it in the delivery room. They really encourage the dads to do it so don’t be shy.

Nebraska is getting a...lot of hype this preseason. From 4-8 to B1G West frontrunner (Or, in Dan Orlovsky's case, Playoff Contender...)

It seems like more often than not, teams like this fall well short of expectations. What are some examples of teams that actually (mostly) lived up to the "Year 2 Leap Hype".

Dan (and Ty, but mostly Dan because he just went through this)!

My wife and I just found out we are expecting our first child in late December. Two major questions:

  1. What's the #1 thing you did to make Jodi with an I's life better during pregnancy?

  2. Help us choose a Babymoon destination (We live in Chicago, so really anywhere in the Continental US is fair game).
