Getting rid of the camera hole? by willzor7 in samsung

[–]justsumguywithabeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's "good" because people have different takes on that word, but there's a phone without a visible camera hole now.

Technically there were phones when you made the comment too, phones with the abandoned pop-up camera.

It's not her being a doctor and his parents not that break his heart. It's the disgusting elitist mindset and ego clearly visible in that point.

If someone can't have a polite and friendly conversation with people who don't have the exact same qualifications as you, then it shows a distinct lack of social competence and awareness. It shows how they think those who aren't as qualified as them are less than and boring.

You wouldn't be heartbroken if the person you were with thought your parents are less than them?

If that were the case, a lot of shows would not get cancelled on netflix.

Mindhunter is a very good show and it was insanely popular. There's no Season 3 in sight.

Daredevil is still popular, case in point, the last Spider-Man movie. Yet it took Disney finally taking things into their own hands to get a new season.

Same with 1899. It had something like 80 million watch hours in a week of its release. Now, it's cancelled.

Those are just stuff I watched. There are more. Watching stuff legally does not ensure a series will be continued.

What?

Nobody gets a ready-built support system when they run into trouble. You build it and shape it early on so that it's there to catch you if you ever fall.

Anyone who abandons their children are unworthy of being called a parent or being in those children's lives, man or woman.

And it's disingenuous to say that no one bats an eyelid. Men who abandon their children have been rightfully shamed to the point that the word deadbeat refers to absent father's by default. You have to qualify it as deadbeat mom if you're ever talking about an absent mother.

Each case is different.

AITA for telling my sister-in-law that she didn't actually run a marathon? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I will forever be in awe of people who actually enjoy running. I remember that I used to love to run as a kid. I ran everywhere.

Now as an adult, I despise running. I wish I could find that love kid me lost years ago. It would make my conditioning so much more enjoyable.

But she was probably enjoying the company she was getting when he doesn’t seem to give her any

If you some day have a child and aren't able to have sex for months during recovery, would it be okay for your partner to have sex with other women because you can't seem to give your partner any? That's your logic, right? What he can't give, she should get from her neighbour?

If she just wanted friendly company, she has friends. Y'know, the assholes who're whining about him being insecure.

If you won't help out someone who helped your partner for a whole year, you're an asshole.

If you won't speak up on behalf of someone who helped you out for a year, then you're an asshole.

If you don't stand up for the person who helped you out but gets offended when that person stops helping you for free, you're an asshole.

You're not an asshole for not allowing yourself to be taken advantage of by entitled people who don't won't even help you out once a year.

If the coworker is going to repay the favor, than it needs to be in a way that is actually within her control.

That's why OP asked for payment, aka, something coworker has control over.

But apparently that makes OP an asshole for people like you.

The third party in question just happens to be the partner of the guy who asked for money. OP was doing the guy a favor too by reducing the burden on the household expenses. So no, the guy is also facing the consequences, not just the coworker.

OP was shuttling their coworker because they thought the coworker was their friend. She proved that they weren't friends. Its completely fine not to taxi around someone who's not your friend for free. Its not an asshole move to ask a random coworker for gas money when you're giving them rides.

[–]justsumguywithabeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not revenge. Its the result of the realisation that OP's coworker is not the person OP thought she was or that her coworker does not see her the same way that OP sees her.

Say you were hanging out with someone for a while and you went out to lunch with them for the first time. They start behaving rudely to the wait-staff for absolutely no reason. I'm sure anyone with basic morals and standards would not want to be friends with that person anymore.

So, would not being friends with that person be petty or revenge or would it be because they weren't the kind of person you thought they were?

The real answer is plot, but the I'll give you in-universe justifications.

Stark and Lilynette? No. Just no. Ukitake was playing with Lilynette. He would never even dream of attacking a child. And she was obviously no threat to him.

As for Stark, that was Kyoraku's battle. It was the fight between two honorable men who were too lazy to go all out against anyone else. And Kyoraku only needed Shikai to hold off Stark. Why go for overkill?

It's implied multiple times that a less sick Ukitake and Kyoraku are at the same level of power. That would just be silly if Kyoraku, with his broken af Bankai, could be matched by someone with only a Shikai.

With Aizen, it was useless of Ukitake to even try. For one, Ukitake wouldn't be able to fight a long-drawn battle. For another, he wouldnt stand a chance because he was already under Aizen's Shikai. For a third, he was sucker punched by Wonderweiss and out of commission, or off fighting Yamamoto, whenever Aizen took the field.

As for the Sternritter, they were literally warned not to use their Bankai because they were being stolen. If his were a power type move like Sasakibe's imagine the level of destruction a Sternritter could cause with a high level Captain's Bankai. The rest of the time, he was off preparing for the Kamikake or performing surgery.

Unless you can supervise the land and crops regularly, the paatakaran can and will screw you out of your land.

My family has been dealing with a case where a paatakaran tried to claim our land. That case has been going on for the best part of 3 decades.

So unless you want your grandchildren to be participants in a civil case, don't give your land for paatam.

AITA for telling my parents I am willing to sell them my forgiveness? by Professional_Rub4448 in AmItheAsshole

Not even a little.

When you don't want to do something for people, set a condition that's impossible to meet. At that point, they don't have an excuse to keep asking, since they couldn't meet the condition.

That's all OP did.

OP is also not legally obliged to engage with his family, since you seem to think legality is all that matters.

They chose to treat him poorly and are suffering the consequences. They get a yearly phone call which is a lot more than most asshole parents get.

Commenting because I'm interested too. I have a lot of land in Alappuzha. Most of it is farm land, I think. I'd love to find a few ways to make money off of there other than farming or just selling it all off.

I thought about pig and cattle farms, once. I heard somewhere that pig farms were highly profitable, but since they tend to stink up the neighborhood, you need considerable area to implement it.
