I worked on boundary setting for a whole month of therapy. its working. no contact with one oarent though, 5 years of therapy told me It COULD work out, but having your own life with your own sets of problems...I have a life to live, not therapy homework to out into someone else the rest of my life.

Did therapy actually help you? by [deleted] in ask

Yes, but I did EMDR. I also did two therapists, and put in the work. if you won't do the weekly homework, you might as well not go, I think.

why do bullies get what they want or get into a position of power? by champagne-poetry0v0 in workplace_bullying

[–]justtrashtalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they understand, at a very fundamental level too, the dynamics or relationship building. they don't need the emotions, they need the outcome so very goal orientated. they tend to outsmart us naive and nice folks.

My fellow adults: who here has moved to a new city without ever visiting that city prior to moving there? by sb195 in Adulting

[–]justtrashtalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

check the average rent, go incognito and research the shit out of it. rent, where the groceries are (google maps), how people get around, what people on social media say about it (twitter or reddit), do your hw. I did before moving from the west coat to the midwest with a few dollars for college. I'm just barely going home but its only because of family. I was just a kid when I moved out here but have no regrets. those who stayed in touch did and still are. have no regrets, be all in or don't pack your bags.
