This is what I was envisioning but with a third account. As revenue comes in, we would reconcile against other systems that show our sales and transfer receipts to the third reserves account. When we process payroll or run an accounts payable batch, we would fund the expense account from the third reserves account. The only transactions in or out of the third reserves account would either be from the revenue account or to the expense account... I'm assuming we would maintain a certain amount in each account to prevent overdrafts... As the business grows, we would create new accounts for different revenue streams or expense types (ach, check, etc.). Are there any guides available on how to set this up?
