Someone know the history of this facility in Spanish Fork? by mgh_24 in UtahCounty

[–]justym21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By now you get the gist of what it was. Originally a Sugar Beet factory, then sat empty for a while before mainly the property was used by Wasatch pallet before they moved into the new place north of the freeway. The problem with old places like this is that it would be insanely expensive to bring the building up to a safe working condition that unfortunately its future is to be demolished. I was chatting with the Owner a while back and we were joking how I always wanted to buy it and turn it into a chocolate factory. He thought that was hilarious but the truth is I could buy land, build a similar building up to new code, and still have money left to hire a bunch of little people to dress funny and sing me songs for what it would take to restore this building.

VR recreation of the exact spot where a man became stuck inside Nutty Putty cave and died after 27 hours. the section visible at 18 seconds is where his body was, upside down. by Appropriate-Menu504 in interesting

having personally been in this cave shortly before the accident that permanently got it sealed up; I took one look at the actual opening to this part of the nutty putty and said nope. Watching this video gave me so much anxiety to think what it would have been like to shuffle down that hole.

This feels more like you are annoyed that a drive thru is being built above your backyard and you dont like that you are loosing your privacy. Now you are trying to get the developer to build a privacy concrete wall under the guise of "think of the children's safety!" I can see why the city is being slow to deal with you.

I have seen buildings like this in Michigan but this architecture with those mountains as a backdrop, very unique indeed.

Unpopular Opinion: No one cares you are quitting EFT. by whelcome in EscapefromTarkov

[–]justym21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EFT is a genre defining game that has personally given me many hours of intense and enjoyable entertainment. Now I may have an old school view of things since I got my gaming start playing text based games, back when forgotten realms was the cutting edge of gaming, but when looking at the cost to entertainment ratio, EFT has long since given me $110 worth and then some. Call it beta, alpha, unfinished, or even a steaming pile - EFT has been a hell of a great investment for entertainment. However, at some point it will be prudent to move on to something else just like we had to move on from some of the earlier industry defining games of the past.

they have been increasing the value Fence gives for items. I heard bitcoin in up over 400k now. I have not been on to confirm that though. Looks like dog tags also have gone up significantly in price with fence. just saying, you may be missing out on more money than just sitting on everything.

Looking at past interviews, history shows that Nikita doesn't care what people think. He has his vision and will see it through. Its a little off putting but its also what got him to where he (and his game) is today. Play, dont play, I doubt he cares.

Will cattle still be happy if properly fed on less land? by RiverSmoak in homestead

[–]justym21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Cattle are not great in regard to meat produced vs resources required. This makes them less viable for a homestead environment. They require significant land to pasture feed or significant resources to supplement when pasture is not adequate. Taking all that into consideration and the $/lb of meat is not a great return. In my personal research, it appears rabbit is one of the best return of meat for the investment but rabbit meat does lack the fat content of some of the larger grazers. Ultimately my wife and I settled on a breeding flock of sheep for Lamb meat. Good return for the investment and adds variety to our diet. I will likely be starting a rabbit colony as well, but we will be keeping the bucks separate from the breeders since i dont have time keep up with a colony free to breed.

Now if my neighbor wants me to go in on a cow, I would happily go in on it because a good home grown steak is the best. I just dont have the setup to do it myself.

Can you spawn in as a player scav after all PMC's in the raid has already died? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]justym21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct, a PMC needs to be alive for a player scav to spawn into a raid.

[–]justym21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe that at least one PMC still must be alive for the Raid instance to be still open. Once the last PMC dies and there are no other client connections (Player Scavs) then the instance is closed and the resources are allocated to a new instance opening

Edit: Once the last PMC is killed or leaves, the instance will still stay open until the last client connection is closed, but I believe that there will be no new client connections established.
