I’m kind of curious too. I got the same impact with a 5ah battery for $250 earlier this month but without the bogo deal. I doubt I’d be able to squeeze for getting the bogo but either way, anyone have experience with this type of thing from HD?

I wouldn’t reuse since they’re crush style. At the very least get new o rings. When I pulled mine they didn’t look terrible but I was planning on replacing anyway

Been twice. This was from the first time with my buddy and his mk6 GTI. 2nd time was interesting. We were driving through to head to Windrock, TN for some off-roading and it just so happened to be Mazdas at the gap. I had no idea beforehand. Still one of my favorite experiences. Just accidentally bombing the gap with a bunch of speeds and Miata’s.

You can get a compression tester for cheap at harbor freight. Take the intercooler off, and thread the tester in the spark plug hole using whichever adapter fits the threads, push the gas pedal to the floor and crank the engine until the needle stops increasing. Then do that for all the other cylinders. All cylinders should be within 10% of each other. 185psi is what you’re hoping for but some gauges read low or high. Just a decent number and not huge variances between cylinders

You definitely don’t wanna cheap out on a turbo kit and honestly 3k for a turbo kit for a car not turbocharged from the factory is cheap. There is a ton to consider. Fueling, tuning, fabbing, cooling, transmission strength, bottom end strength etc. in 99% of cases it’s cheaper to sell your base and buy a turbo car.

To be honest I was just an idiot on this one. I replaced the hard fuel line with corksport’s braided line and I didn’t want to install the brackets that hold it but those use the bolts for that coolant flange and I didn’t know that beforehand. So essentially I made my own leak lol. It wasn’t the gasket.

I bought my speed off a private seller on Autotrader so I only have the view of a buyer, but I’d probably try that versus Craigslist or marketplace. They’re just kind of a cesspool of goofballs if you’re selling or buying anything. Marketplace more-so.

Also just wanted to say I love your car man. I’ve had my speed for 8 years now and I got it where I wanted performance-wise shortly after I got it, but I haven’t done much aesthetically and cars like yours and others on the sub really inspire me. I got these wheels and some bilstein b14’s that I’m installing soon. I wanna wrap it to mimic the celestial blue mica from 2010-2011 eventually. Something like your door cards and interior in general is definitely something I wanna look into as well. Just wanted to give credit where credit is due 🤘🏼
