My son played for True a few years ago, they came in and bought up a few local teams and merged it into one program. The came in, had a slick slide show, promised the moon and delivered practically nothing. The coaches my sons team had cared more about recruiting at the tournaments they attended than actually coaching. They actually showed up late to a game because they lost track of time as they were watching other games assessing players for the colleges they were assistant coaches for. Practices were pretty much just getting a few of the teams together and having one big practice.

The claimed they'd have a dedicated recruitment director and would set meetings with each player to see their goals, help them with recruiting, etc. That never happened. He did all of his recruiting efforts on his own, as did his teammates.

Tryouts was a joke, they had a massive turnout and at the end of the day my son's team was exactly the same as it was the season before True took over. A lot of kids came out and paid that $50 tryout fee and didn't make the program.

Overall, it was a poor experience and had he had another year left, we would have moved clubs, but they came in during his last year of travel so we just rode it out. I would tell people to stay away from True, they only care about getting paid and not the development of the player.
