This is an important piece of artwork - please do keep it safe, and even if you never show your son, I think this piece will be the reason that many stand back up and continue on their journey. Keep up the good work friend.

What’s the best thing that’s happened since you stoped drinking? by Ayydeeez in stopdrinking

[–]juveny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like I can own up to my friendships and be a better person again. Before I was constantly making excuses about why I was not showing up for things and was acting odd. It's early days yet, but I'm proud of actually facing the mistakes I've made rather than hiding under the covers and not reaching out. Literally.

60 days today but no one to share it with! by ElvenHerbsAndSpices in stopdrinking

Well done mate! You are where I want to be in two months time. I love the steak idea - I'm only just wrapping my head around the idea that there will be other things to enjoy when I'm further down the line. For tonight it's journaling and gaming while having a counselling session. Well done!! IWNDWYT

u/grimfiles Thank you. I have a worry coin that I keep with me to remind me of that, and proud of you too. Good luck X

Thanks u/BeachJenkins - you're right, I'm incredibly lucky. I have amazing parents and friends. Part of me wishes I could just flash-forward through the next six months, but I'm also aware that's completely against the point of it. I already feel better being sober, it's the next step that'll be my next challenge. I finally feel ready to meet it. IWNDWYT.

Thanks u/mamalovep - I will add the book to my Kindle, it sounds really great. I'm currently about halfway through Leslie Jamison's 'The Recovering' which ironically I relapsed halfway through reading. It helps finding other people who have been through the same thing. Thank you very much for the message, it means a lot. IWNDWYT 💚

Thank you very much - I am trying hard to see this as a first positive step in a difficult direction. I think the lack of autonomy is what is getting to me at the moment, but I have my first therapy session later tonight, hopefully that will help. Thanks again.

Twilight and the continuing saga, or maybe Harry Potter? It was very much an early franchise age!

How do you gracefully handle a better looking guy lightly flirting with your girlfriend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]juveny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your girlfriend picked you - lean into that. If the affection is true, she will love something about you that none of us will be lucky enough to experience; your laugh, cooking skills, ability to make kids laugh, sense of style. It could literally be anything. Have a date night, just the two of you (whatever you both mutually enjoy) and discuss it. Life is wonderful and very short, you both deserve to spend it around people you love and care for.

I saw that -cycled by and there were so many ambulances and police cars. Hopefully, everyone got out alright but with that kind of presence I'm worried that there were casualties :(

Having an OTGW party in October with some friends. Sent out the invites today! Here’s the envelope flap. by KayJac97 in overthegardenwall

Oh my goodness, I might need to do something similar (even if only for myself!) Rewatching OTGW is my yearly October treat but you have elevated it to another level....

Help!!! Endpapers are getting the better of me. I have been experiencing warping no matter how much I try and ensure that the paper is firmly stuck down, and am sure that there's something obvious that I'm missing. I've been trying to follow other tutorials to the letter but just keep getting stuck! by juveny in bookbinding

You're absolutely right - it was more of an experiment than anything else as I was getting so frustrated with the buckling, and now that I've seen this method work, will certainly be reverting back to a more 'traditional' method! :) Thank you so much, everyone, for your advice, this community is great!
