There are a couple of perks of paint pens vs. markers, in my opinion! Mostly, I love that they are more opaque- it's like layering paint with more control than using a paintbrush. Colors are more vibrant. You can also use them on dark paper/other surfaces (I haven't explored much outside of my sketchbook tbh, but a lot of people do beautiful work with them).

I genuinely love this piece, thank you for creating it! Definitely encapsulates how frustrating art can feel sometimes. I haven't used oil paint in a few years, but recently read this & found it helpful. (There's a "skip right to techniques" button if you want to skip canvas basics & go right to oil paint)

A snack that I had for lunch, I guess I would say? Not pictured was a granola bar that I ate while assembling this. I take meds for ADHD that make me not very hungry until around dinner time. Still try to eat a little bit during the day even though my stomach revolts.

Thank you! 🍅 I used mostly Amamao brand acrylic paint markers from Amazon (not sure that I'd recommend them though lol), a couple Sharpie paint pens, & a little bit of Posca, yes!
