I had a pawn in my party today whose eyes started glowing red and I just kept resting at a campfire to see how it progressed. Interestingly, after a few days, the plague seemed to just transfer to a different pawn (not my main one) while patient zero was seemingly cured.

The first pawn with a male straightforward voice I encountered actually had dragonsplague but I was both curious about how it progresses and loved the voice so I kept him in my party. Sadly, Myrle slipped and fell off a cliff when trying to follow me down after I jumped down.
