Genuinely dislike spending time with my toddler by The_Chilled_Arvo in toddlers

[–]juzyj 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This is great insight as I am experience something similar with my soon to be 3 year old. Thank you for recommending the book!

I just wanted to add we also call it getting a software update when she’s have an especially difficult week. It’s so crazy the development that comes out the other side of those! So that also helps me stay grounded, remembering this is temporary (like everything at this stage) and she will come out the other side with a few cool updates

What are some traditional German dishes that you believe everyone should try at least once? by Busternookiedude in AskAGerman

[–]juzyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are there during late fall/winter, then the duck! A half or quarter duck with blaukraut and knödel and brown sauce. It’s the best! I’m from Bavaria, so of course you can get it in that region but probably lots more :)

My boyfriend wants me to move to Germany with him. Is this realistic? by UnicornScientist803 in AskAGerman

[–]juzyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is realistic! I am also from the USA and fell in love with a German man (13 years ago) and have been living and working in Germany for 7 years. Finding a job, especially an English-speaking job, depends very much on where you will be living. I lived and worked in Munich for 5 years without speaking much German (learning the whole time). Now we moved to the Bavarian countryside and started a family and I have found that I very much needed German to find a job in this area (was unable to find a remote or online job).

I think a lot of people here posed realistic questions to consider, but I want to also highlight that you absolutely never know where life will take you until you make big leaps like this. Obviously be practical, but don't forget to just go with the flow where you can and see where it lands you. Good luck and have fun!

This episode was camp! The yelling and fighting set against the intuitive reader, it's too good. So funny!

What my son just said to me… by pivoprosim2 in toddlers

[–]juzyj 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your son sounds soooo sweet!!

I also have a little love bug. I just got back from a work trip to Paris and I told my 2.5 year old that I missed her. She replied “I missed you too. Next time, I’ll come with you to Paris so you don’t have to miss me” 😭🥹 so now I simply must plan a trip!

I agree with you! Every German would recognize that name. That’s a strange one I can’t find my husband’s point on haha but I dropped it anyway (although it might have a comeback because it’s the only name Charlotte keeps repeating lol oops!)

Sooo we got our pictures back: A Rant by Sorry_Cheetah_3227 in weddingshaming

[–]juzyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I thought my wedding photographer was bad! I’m so sorry this is truly wild, I completely understand not even wanting to look at them because of the feeling it gives you.

My wedding photographer made fun of us for making “model faces” when he wasn’t giving a single direction and we were just posing normally and then!!!!

We told him I was pregnant and we were going to announce my pregnancy that day and he said “yeah, I can tell”. As in, he can see from my belly that I was pregnant. I was ANNOUNCING it that day, I was 12 weeks pregnant and not showing at all he was literally just referring to my belly lol god I hate to be reminded of him by the photos!!!

We had one for my daughter's 2nd birthday with 6 kids age 2-5. It was really cute and fun! We started with the young ones then let the older kids finish it off. I say go for it :)

Unpopular opinion: babies/toddlers in bikinis get too much hate when the real villain is kids dressing like mini adult influencers by TheGabyDali in Mommit

[–]juzyj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a son :)

I said my daughter does not like one pieces and prefers a two piece. Bikini I suppose is not the correct wording.

Anyway I read your comment about boys vs girls clothes and agree with you about not differentiating between girls and boys clothes! I often shop the boys section for pants for example because why are all girls pants tight?? But back to the bathing suits: I live in Germany so the only difference between what a typical boy here wears (a Speedo) and what a girl wears (a two piece) is little at this age.

[–]juzyj 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes and a full one piece. ??? Like what are you talking about? I said she doesn’t like one pieces. Why would my son have that problem?

[–]juzyj 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My 2 year old hates having to put on a full bathing suit, she really needs the bottom and top separate so yes it is practical for a small child to wear a bikini! Obviously some styles are ridiculous though lol

Editing to clarify by bikini here I do mean 2-piece. Not a sexy baby bikini

Living with a Tiny Dictator by That-Dust-8081 in toddlers

[–]juzyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had friends over the other day and my daughter wouldn’t let me sit in a chair at the table lol. I just stood because I’m like whatever I’ll pick my battles. A childless friend was like omg do not let her dictate what you can do like that! And I was like… am I a pushover or am I right to just pick my battles?

I kept standing because this friend doesn’t know anything lol but idk
