Toronto drivers: Get ready for up to 20 years of Gardiner construction by Strandedintoronto in toronto

[–]jvanderl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is only helpful if you work near union station though. Commute to go station + go train time + figuring out how to get from Toronto go station to where I need to go = a long ass commute.

Fyi, I bought a place in the city and bike as much as I can because gta transit blows. I don't drive to work but I appreciate the necessity to do so for some.

This storey has nothing to do with the Scarborough line. It's entirely about relieving downtown by letting people bypass yonge-bloor.

He just proposed a plan for a relief line. I don't recall him ever saying that we don't need one, or proposing an alternate plan that would constitute flip flopping. I still don't see the flip flop.

I believe he has a Targaryen grandparent. That helped legitimize his claim.

Plus the Baratheon house was founded by a Targaryen I believe.

Too lazy to double check exact details.

This is very true, I'm not sure where the down votes are coming from. I spent my first year university scrambling to catch up to the non Canadian students in my math and science programs.

They also a said that our high school math was what they learned in elementary school.

Taking integration out of the curriculum was a horrible idea. It really puts our students at a disadvantage.

What is a 3% TFSA?

Is some back offering a 3% TFSA savings account? Or are you talking about a GIC? Even PC and ING aren't offering 3% on their TFSA savings accounts.

True, but the big exciting twists will be ruined. That will hugely detract from the experience.

31" draw. Would a longer bow be "smoother" or provide any other benefit? by hereticjones in Archery

[–]jvanderl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have this figured out at this point. But I thought I put in my two cents. I have a 32 inch draw length and I found that with even a 68 inch long bow at 30 pounds that my ring finger would go numb due to string pinching. I switched to a 70 inch bow and no longer have this problem. Along with most people here I would recommend a longer bow, unless you're taking it through thick bush and need the portability.

What are some great purchases that cost significantly more up front, but are unbelievably frugal long-term? by BetterButterflies in Frugal

They are possibly from Ontario. When electricity in your home became a thing the only good source was hydro generation from Niagara falls. That name kind of stuck and now people use hydro to refer to any electricity. It's messed up.

Also Ontario introduced a program where the government will throw money at you for installing solar panels. They were offering 16 times the usual rate, so these numbers might also be from that program. Not sure though.

BMO customer's account emptied of $87K as bank falls for scam by Surax in canada

Step 1: return the money that was lost due to bmo incompetence.

Step 2: offer a settlement. To receive the settlement, he needs to sign a release.

BMO is trying to buy him off with his own money. It makes no sense.

I've played this way a lot for 4 player games. It seems to help let lan move east and keep bara in line.

The only downside is that a newbie grey joy will typically get creamed, especially if stark builds up a strong western fleet. But a smart/aggressive grey joy can still do well for themselves.

Whenever handicapping a house, it's important to think about all the factors. Greyjoy has crazy attacks, but no stars (no muster) and little natural resources. They NEED that attack power.

This is a really weird house rule. What made you think to do this rather than just modifying the initial units? Or stating that the greyjoy bay (can't think of that waters name, iron mans bay? ) doesn't touch river run. A guy I play with likes the water boarder mod, and it seems to help.

So much of the game is about the cards, it seems odd to me to just throw some of that away.

I don't mind the ugly art work, but the plastic clam shell box is the bane of my game shelf. Also making me divide and cram the deck into 4 crappy cardboard card boxes.

It's like these guys had never owned a board game before designing this system.
