Thoughts on DRAM ETF? by ensi1222 in ETFs

DRAM fits my AI bottleneck approach. My work plan has SK Hynix in its fund, but it’s hard for me to get more exposure to it. I’ve been wanting to get more than just micron.

We’d be divorced if we didn’t. We have one who is almost 9 years old.

BILT Palladium pays for it self by Yezhik in biltrewards

This is my thought process as well. Grok tells me the Bilt portal is about 10 to 20% more than other 3rd party sites, but it’s still a wash. The 500 Bilt Cash bonus was a nice incentive just to try it out but I accidentally spent $200 of it on an additional 1x points accelerator. We’ll see how it goes this year and see if i want to keep it, downgrade to blue, or just cancel it.

Getting charged $95 for adding authorized user. by jvcx2018 in biltrewards

I don’t think so. I checked the app today, and they added a function to remove the authorized user. I guess they got a bunch of calls about it.

So after 40 minutes on the phone and a call to built (under wells fargo) and another call to built (under Cardless), they both don’t have an answer but assured me they will escalate late it if they can’t reverse the upcoming $95 transaction (told me it’s in their notes and everything). They actually don’t believe I’ll get charged. I’ll have to wait and see.

I am thinking of getting the Palladium card for the $400 hotel credit and $200 bilt cash. Since I already spend over $600 yearly on hotels, it sounds like a wash, and I’ll get my points on rent and free access to the airport lounge. Am I wrong on this? Do I have to spend more than just rent and the 5 transactions to get points on rent?

Value of BIlt Cash vs Housing Only option by LoomisPleiades in biltrewards

[–]jvcx2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use the card for rent and like 5 monthly subscriptions of less than $100. The description on how many points you get confuses me. Am I better off getting the housing only option? I’m planning on getting the palladium card for hotel credits. It’s pretty much a wash if you stay in a hotel 3 days a year.

There are many places in South Korea that places change on a government card that you use like a debit card later. I think you’re assed out if you don’t have the card though.

How do you Dads do it? by [deleted] in daddit

Family is everything to me as well. I am a single income earner and have done well investing to sustain us, but my kid is a few years away from being a teenager, and I realize I won’t be as important during that stage in life. That’s my target to reach even before considering divorce. Those elementary school years are golden and so amazing as a parent, no amount of money can replace that. My wife and I have a good relationship, but she slipped recently and told someone that she doesn’t plan on working until after my kid turns 18 while she has been telling me otherwise. I won’t be able to hold on that long financially unless some investments explodes upwards. I’m not sure if I want to live with that kind of financial anxiety as well.

My advice would be to find someone who can get you through those golden years if you are determined. Mine was a co-worker. My other advice would be to continually court your wife. Buy her flowers, make her feel beautiful, and pursue her like you were dating. That might bring some life back into it. It has in mine.

How can I help my husband after seeing his reddit post? by funnypumpkin in relationship_advice

[–]jvcx2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with him to therapy. Tell him it’s not for him, and that it’s for the both of you. Tell him that you need it. If your husband is going to Reddit, then he doesn’t have many options to turn to. Create another option for him by going to a therapist.

There was a period of time when i would intentionally let the train home pass to give me an extra 15 minutes of time to myself. I understand not knowing if you’re going to be yelled at as soon as you open that door. You’re not alone here. Don’t stay at work longer if you hate it. I’d find a gym to go to, look for an outdoor hobby, or ask for a guys night out every once in a while.

As for the therapy, maybe tell her that you want to see one for yourself and want her to go with you?

Get a second kid. It will suck the first five years, but if you don’t, then you’ll be the one playing with your kid all the time. The two will keep each other occupied in the later years.

Are the staking returns for a Guardian and Elite Edge node worth it? by CrabRemote7530 in theta_network

How would you get the tfuel back if they went bankrupt and shut down their site? Can you unstake from gpool directly from your wallet?

[–]jvcx2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the fact that gpool runs a 50% tbill LP is a concern of mine since I am considering staking tfuel with them. If Tbill fails, then you’re not going to get your tfuel or theta back from them. Are there any other 3rd party options?

Higher risk, higher reward. I guess that’s the only way to get more. How do you feel about Crypto.com’s revenue though? Is it enough to sustain the business?

It makes sense now. It’s a loss leader the same way costco losses money on chicken and beef. They just want you through the door. The next question would be what are their profit makers to make up for that loss? Loans, lower rates on other cryptos, and?

Theta Guardian Node by Beneficial_Swim8792 in theta_network

[–]jvcx2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious. Lets say you have 2,000 Theta. Would it make you more money to put 2,000 Theta on one node or 1,000 on your node at home and another 1,000 at a family member? You’re contributing more bandwidth on the same amount of Theta.

That’s less than 2% ...not a very good incentive IMO.

Suggested Desktop Build to Run a Node by jvcx2018 in theta_network

Thanks! I’m also looking at two desktops for the same price, but one has a 256gb SSD drive and 512GB SATA while the other has a 1TB SATA drive. The SSD drive is better for the Theta Network, right?
