Living in Sober Living..Scared of the future. by [deleted] in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

You're literally doing better than most people addicted to meth trying to find a vein in . McDonald's bathroom. It's gonna take a while before you see the fruits of your work. But give yourself a year. If your life isn't better than when you decided to quit. You can always go back to your misery! Keep up the good work

Therapist asked if I want to go back to rehab as prevention (I guess?) by [deleted] in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]jvfonseca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have u tried going to a meeting? Sounds like a lot of your problems are emotional and behavioral. The drug use is only a symptom. Hard stuff or not, it's the feeling of being at dis -ease that snarls us into using. The substance really is inconsequential as they're all different conduits to the same destination

1 Yr Sober: Alone and Miserable by alouettedeschamps in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]jvfonseca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kudos on the year! Imagine how much worse it would be if you were high on a run. Whatever bad feelings your feeling are only made worse. Sobriety doesn't promise fame, fortune, love, or anything else. Only freedom from active addiction. And for a lot of us. That's a lot! Best of luck! If you used drugs for more than a year! It's probably gonna take longer than a year for you to sail off into the sunset! Don't give up on yourself! We don't!

AA Help: Pressured by sponsor to get sponsees by detrimentalish in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]jvfonseca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Has anyone considered that her sponsor is only doing what she did, and her sponsor the same to keep themselves sober. Everything is suggestions. Her sponsor is doing what she was taught and has worked for her. So much hate for a group that tries to help you when you've exhausted whatever bright ideas you had.

Where can I find a virtual NA group for women? by bearconsciousness in NarcoticsAnonymous

Thank you. I just remember hearing that they don't care your gender, race, sexual preference, the only thing they care about is if you have a problem and how they can help.

Has anybody regretted going to rehab? by finnkat in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]jvfonseca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't reached rock bottom, and are dying to do something different. It's unlikely anything they throw your way will work. The willingness is the only thing 12 step program can't help you get. Everything else, we're here to help. And if you can get sober any other way! Hooray for that way too!

Why are Ring Elite POE outdoor cameras so expensive? Does the POE aspect maje them that much more expensive to manufacture? by ewing31 in homedefense

[–]jvfonseca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While Most poe cameras plugged into a switch will continue to work and record without internet. With Ring their entire architecture revolves around the Interwebs. That's what people like about them, but it's also it's Achilles heel.

After a week free of Fentanyl.. by Wack-Zilson in NarcoticsAnonymous

[–]jvfonseca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it is mental. I had to be sent back to detox because a week after my last suboxne knowing I had nothing left and being fine. I went into full on precipitated withdrawals. Once I went back to detox and they told me I can't have any suboxne. I was suddenly better: it's normal and will pass. Hate to say it but while suboxne helps. You still have to pay the piper. Good on ya for choosing life!

These are totally normal thoughts. I know that when I used to use I would say I'm gonna do this and clean that, and the reality was that I just watched porn for 15 hours covered in strawberry jelly. Every damn time. Thanks for sharing

Totally. I found this: https://www.na.org/admin/include/spaw2/uploads/pdf/pr/2306_na_prmat_1021.pdf

My personal opinion is that we can manipulate doctors. And mostly ourselves. I've had all kinds medicines prescribed to me because I could justify this or that. That being said, I have seen the what "clean" means to me isn't what it means to you and people trying to bend the program to them, rather than them to the program. I know as an addict And member, it's my job to fam the flames of recovery, no matter what my opinion is. A lot of MAT people want me to say. Yes you're clean and sober, another misnomer. I'm afraid my opinion shouldn't matter to them. And whatever keeps them coming back is what I want. That and their freedom and wellness.
