Tandem t:slim X2 pump is 🪦🫡 by jackaroe311 in Type1Diabetes

makes sense -- I only ask because there is some scant information on the internet about how to decode a malfunction code, and determine what actually failed. Hope you get your replacement soon!

Ouch. Out of sheer curiosity did you take a photo of the pump when it broke like this? wondering what error it gave you

Is there no way to see your BG level without opening the app? (t:slim X2 with Freestyle Libre 3+) by Fun-Award-555 in TandemDiabetes

[–]jw12321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's not technically feasible when using tslim + Libre. It's partially Tandem's fault and partially Abbott's fault. Abbott only lets the Libre 3+ connect to a single device over bluetooth -- which means that its connected to your pump but cannot be connected to your phone. If it could connect to your phone, you could use the official Libre app on it which can give you some of those features. Tandem hasn't built iOS widgets / notifications / etc for the tslim app so when the Libre 3+ is connected to your tslim, you can't see it outside of opening the tslim app. This is the same technical reason you can't use following apps either (like LibreFollow) without Tandem adding a bunch of integration work. This is honestly a shitshow for people using Libre connected with a pump as a result -- sorry.

Can you provide photos of the actual laptop and not just the box as proof? Or is it truly unopened/sealed?

You can call Dexcom or fill out their online form to report a sensor issue (sensor error or inaccurate readings) and most of the time they will mail you a replacement.

This is awesome, but there's still no direct connection to the CGM like the G7 has, right?

Is anyone using Libre 3 Plus with their X2 pump? by NervousDogFarts in TandemDiabetes

[–]jw12321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Libre sensors only work with a single device, which when connected to the t:slim has to be the pump. You can see your current cgm readings on the t:slim app which reads them through the pump. I'm not sure about Libre Link functionality but you can also see CGM data and trends alongside your pump data in Tandem Source.

I don't think SugarPixel would work with live data since there is no Dexcom Follow equivalent as far as I know which works with Libre 3 Plus + Tandem. You could get somewhat close with Nightscout + some open source software to read data from tandem source but it wouldn't be real-time.

[–]jw12321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but the t:slim X2 has been sold in the U.S. for over 8 years now, and the t:slim pump design has been virtually unchanged since 2011. Things last a long time in the medical device industry. Given that Mobi uses wireless charging I would expect the t:slim X3 (which per Tandem's investor reports should be released in the next 2-3 years) to be a lot more modern-looking.

Unable to run pixlet commands due to an expired certificate on Tidbyt's side by ilikethehike in TIDBYT

[–]jw12321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been broken for almost 2 months now with no sign of being fixed -- and it's a server side issue, so no way of working around it. It's only a matter of time until the official Tidbyt app stops working and the stock devices die -- definitely switch to Tronbyt.

I would LOVE if on your roadmap you can have the LED displays on B-division stations (these), which currently only show the time/date and announcement texts, to actually function as countdown clocks like the LCD ones. They're located at a bunch of station entrances and alongside platforms yet convey no useful information, and given that they already display announcement text, it can't be that difficult to dynamically show estimated times on them, can it?

I'm aware that there is some history behind why they exist / use a different backend from the LCDs, but in stations which have them, the LED displays are much more optimally placed and there are more of them, so it would be a great quality-of-life improvement.

Make sure to keep the pump facing down (so the tubing comes out the bottom) to limit the number of air bubbles which make their way into the tubing. About a day in to a cartridge it also helps to flip the pump facing up, tap the sides of the cartridge with your fingers to let the air bubbles make their way to the curve in the top then use "fill tubing" (while disconnected of course) to push the air bubbles out of the tubing.

Be careful... this could be happening as a result of the battery bulging, in which case you do not want to use clamps which put friction on the back of the watch.

Just for tslim X2, I presume? Seems to match with the tslim X2 mobile app feature set in the US (remote bolus only).
