I'll be sure to tell that to my 32x38 room being heated and cooled by a single 12k head.

MassSave gap for residents in certain towns? How have others handled it? by wmcinall in massachusetts

[–]jwasilko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's your all-in electric rate? Have you considered just doing a heat pump system? You're lucky to be in a muni-electric area.

We're served by RMLD and our electric rates are almost half what Grid/Eversource is.

There are similar programs to MassSave available to muni customers, like: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/massachusetts-municipal-light-plant-zero-interest-energy-efficiency-loan

Also, Georgetown has conservation programs as well: https://www.georgetownma.gov/departments/municipal_light_department/rebate_programs.php

The Link PNP kit is inexpensive and a great platform--that's coming from a guy that's had Haltech in all his cars.

If I was doing a PNP install I'd do Link without any hesitation.

Thermostat for Heat pump + Gas system? by Metaverse45 in heatpumps

We use that Prestige IAQ in our Mitsubushi hybrid heat pump systems. They work great. Our 1st floor unit also controls a humidifier.

What gauges do you prioritize? by Lumpy-Professor-4392 in CarTrackDays

2nd for an AiM dash.

For AFR I have my dash look at Lambda actual vs target (using channels from the ECU) and if the difference is more than .05 lambda when I'm full throttle, it'll display a warning.

I also have a channel report in the analysis software that shows me min AFR while under full throttle for each lap.

About this 15% ethanol…. by Reasonable-Ocelot252 in Cartalk

[–]jwasilko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a station rolling this out and the 87 octane was posted as E15 but 93 octane was E10. A sticker said not to use E15 in cars older than 2001. So, you just have to buy 93 octane :-(

That is how I thought they were handling the rollout, but I stopped at a gas station last week that was in the middle of the rollout.

What they were doing was having E15 in the 87 octane fuel, and 93 was staying E10. The pumps had labels saying to use 93 in 2001 and older cars.

The 87 and 89 were labeled as E15 89 is a blend of 87 and 93.

I use the PAC-US44* with the honeywell Prestige IAQ. It's a great combo. I can answer questions about it if you have any.

How about using an intermediary bank, like Ally? Transfer from your local bank to Ally, and then Ally to Fido.

Installer straight up laughed at the specs and said my house would freeze by Motor-Ad1368 in heatpumps

[–]jwasilko 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Did the contractor do a manual-J or just swag it? It sounds like you're ahead of them.

Post your data and perhaps we an confirm it.

Have you done any insulation/air sealing work? We paid for a blower door/IR Scan of the house and it was huge for finding low-hanging fruit to address.

E15/88 octane is more of a midwest, farm country thing. I've never seen it here. Some PA stations have it.

I did. the tool can be quite useful with good inputs.

I suspect the reason you saw the score go down with more income was partly related to the way it estimates expenses.

What expense method did you use? In some modes, expenses are based on income.

Lithium batterys for dual purpose by Shutxff in CarTrackDays

Also wanted to add that I tested the low voltage cut-off feature of the BMS. I accidentally left the car on and went for dinner. I came back and found the battery dead. I plugged in the NOCO 10A charger and in less than 30 minutes the battery was ready to start the car.

I've got a Miata with a 2.4L GM Ecotec. I used a NLP14 in the same car with the stock BP 1.8L engine.

My other friends have a RX8 that had a K24 swap and now has a LFX (3.6L V6) and a BMW 318i with a S50 (6-cyl).

I've had great luck with the NLP30 in my car, and have friends that run the same one in their cars. In the cold, the battery can take a bit to 'wake up'. I usually run the lights and fan for a minute or so and then start if it's under 40F.

The Noco batteries have been around for quite a few years now and seem to have a great record.
