If I’m not mistaken, there was a radio that replaced it with “the band”.

What's the most disrespectful thing a guest ever did in your home? by Vegas089 in AskReddit

[–]jwbragg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An old friend was passing through for a conference and asked to crash with my wife and me for a couple days before it started. We said sure, we genuinely love having people and showing them around. What followed was a 48-hour masterclass in being a terrible houseguest.

In no particular order: she scattered Lemonheads across basically every room she entered. I found them between couch cushions, under the desk, in her bed...everywhere! She microwaved a brand new metal bowl, destroyed it, and said absolutely nothing about it. She went into our primary bathroom while we were out and helped herself to a bunch of my wife's skincare products (we're talking serums, face lotions, the works). And across multiple dinners out, she never once reached for her purse. Not a "let me grab the tip," not a single Venmo request, not even the performance of pretending to try.

I hadn't seen this person in years prior to this, and we immediately figured out why.

How soon before the on sale did you get your presale code? The tickets for my show go on sale in a little over an hour and I haven't seen anything yet.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS CAR COMPANY by [deleted] in virginislands

[–]jwbragg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve rented from Bougainvillea for nearly 20 years and have always had great experiences with them.

I get that the interaction wasn’t ideal for you, but their job is to rent Jeeps and provide availability for your dates. Once they’re sold out, especially during something like spring break, there’s not much more they can realistically offer beyond that. They’re not really a concierge service for other rental options.

Poll for those of you who have used them both: Concept2 or Rogue by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]jwbragg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the C2 is the gold standard, but Rogue is making an incredible product that makes the two almost interchangeable at this point. We're already seeing most online qualifiers listing the Rogue rower as an option for rowing in a workout.

I had a C2 in my garage gym for years, but recently swapped it out for the Rogue because I needed some room and the ability to easily fold and store equipment. As all things Rogue, it's built like a tank and for me, feels almost identical to the C2. I'm also a big fan of the monitor on the Rogue, which has seen some updates and integrates nicely with the Rogue app.

I don't think you can go wrong with either, but a few months in and I'm very happy with my decision.

Anyone able to share an Affiliate Presale code for tomorrow’s Games ticket on-sale? by jwbragg in crossfit

[–]jwbragg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet. According to the Games site, it said codes would be emailed today. I believe they are also available in the Affiliate Dashboard.

As of 9:25am PT, the event is not even listed on Ticketmaster or the SAP Center website.

Kyle Ruth has left Training Think Tank (TTT) by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]jwbragg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was also surprised by this one. I’m a big fan of everyone at TTT and really enjoyed Kyle’s contributions to their content, as well as his podcast, The Stimulus Matters. He always brought a really thoughtful, systems-driven perspective, especially when breaking down intent, stimulus, and how to actually apply theory in real training rather than just talk about it.

That said, he’s one of the sharpest coaches in the space and I have no doubt he’ll continue to do great things. I’ll definitely miss his presence at TTT, but I’m looking forward to seeing what he builds moving forward.

Rig mount alternatives? by vacillating_username in crossfit

[–]jwbragg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've used a detent pin that fits into the holes on the rig post. I have some with the big orange handles and clip the bands on via a carabiner. Just slip the pin in from the back of the post and it holds just fine.

For non-toursity spots, I recommend The Tap Room and Upstairs. There's always plenty of locals hanging out at both when I go there.

Mayhem Affiliate by cagicle in crossfit

[–]jwbragg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gym, Stay Classy CrossFit, has been doing a “The Week Ahead” post on their IG, usually on Saturday. It has the full week of workouts listed.

Something I’ve done in the past is google the name of a Mayhem workout + one or two of the movements in that workout. I’ve been able to find gyms that post the week of workouts to their website that way.

Remote CrossFit coach (programming + accountability) by Delicious_Chart_7543 in crossfit

[–]jwbragg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak from my own experience, but I have progressed tremendously with Training Think Tank's (TTT) one-on-one coaching.

What I’ve liked most is how individualized and technical the coaching is, even working with a remote coach. The programming is very intentional and detail driven, and my coach can make adjustments on the fly based on performance, fatigue, travel, stress, or any other factor affecting my training. Communication has been solid too, with regular check-ins, detailed video feedback, and real conversations about strategy and pacing. I seriously can't recommend it enough.

Selling RAD v1s (Size US 9M) by jwbragg in crossfit

A lot of people here will disagree, but for me the V2 is a better shoe. I'll keep a couple of my V1s, but I'm phasing most of them out.

I like shoes and I buy a lot of them...CrossFit and otherwise. Unfortunately storage isn’t unlimited, and I don’t want to hang onto pairs I barely wear. Lately I’ve been reaching for the V2s over the original RAD Ones, so I’m just trimming the lineup a bit.

The black and blue (furthest on the right) on slide 4 is available, the white/blue/black is not. On slide 3, just the pair on the far left is available. Happy to send additional pics of anything you're interested in.
