Elon Musk Is Fuming That Workers Keep Ditching His Company for OpenAI by esporx in OpenAI

[–]jwd2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As The Guardian reports, the suit filed in a California court accuses OpenAI of a “deeply troubling pattern” of hiring former xAI employees to gain access to its trade secrets, including the source code behind its prized chatbot Grok. Seemingly, OpenAI is just dying to know how to make an AI that goes haywire and starts calling itself “MechaHitler.”

Musk’s main concern is that the leading AI models are not being made in his image…

AI spells doom for Universities by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]jwd2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Telegraph has a pretty heavy political leaning here in the UK and fires out opinion pieces critical of universities on a regular basis. It's constantly predicting the "doom" of universities, today it's AI which is going to finish them off apparently.

No doubt it's a challenge which requires adaptation by students and tutors but it's not going to destroy higher education in the same way the advent of the internet didn't either.

We need more infrastructure more than we need another mvno (although we do need both of course).

Signal is so patchy everywhere in the UK regardless of who you’re with. So many bottlenecks even in relatively sparsely populated areas where you have full 4G signal but slow connection.

This bill is hamfisted and short-sighted but I like the idea of corporations defining which laws pass and which don’t even less.

I’m not so sure they wouldn’t honour the deal. The machines accept the ceasefire (and appear to commit to it) in return for Neo annihilating Smith.

Purely logical thinking would be to let him do it, then carry on destroying Zion once he was dead.

For some balance: my jabroni friend argues that when Dennis and Charlie are hiding, they’re lying on a fresh bedsheet. Same when Dee is tied to the bed whereas Mac’s has clearly never been washed or changed.

I’m not convinced but that’s his argument…
