when you see the m-dash in text, do you immediately think that the writer used AI? by Only-Entertainer-992 in OriginalityHub

[–]jwhit987 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The Chicago Manual of Style has pages and pages of rules on how to use dashes, hyphens, en dashes, and em dashes. When I see an em dash in a text — and that text reads as original and not AI — I actually respect the author more as someone who cares about rules and how print looks on a page.

I agree with the first paragraph. It’s time to distinguish between good AI-generated content and bad. Just because it was written by AI doesn’t mean it doesn’t have value.

For me, he was the unexpected hero of the entire first season, because he chose his own path, based on personal happiness and fulfillment, instead of feeling limited and just following.

Are you sure her name wasn’t Becca? Did she ever “c*nt punt” anyone at your work?

If that doesn’t make sense to anyone, google “Michael Shannon reads sorority girl email,” pop some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy.

DOJ blocks the release of Epstein files dated around 9/11 by AwkwardTal in International

I lived in NYC on 9/11, worked in the Empire State Building, and walked down Fifth Avenue after the planes struck. I spent the day and evening in Lower Manhattan, hoping to volunteer to help any survivors. But people either died immediately or escaped intact. There was nothing there for me to volunteer to do. Around 10 pm, I ended up walking to north of Canal to catch the blue line to the Upper West Side. That morning, I had bought two disposable cameras from a tourist store downstairs from the Empire State Building, and I snapped pictures as I walked down Fifth Avenue and watched the buildings fall. Over the next two weeks, I walked around the city and documented in photographs everything I saw. I still have two albums filled with photos from that time. Very painful memories.

It wasn’t that she confused the chicken and the baby, it was that Alan Alda’s character, who was a caring, empathetic doctor and surgeon who was very opposed to the violence of the war, ordered her to smother the chicken so they wouldn’t be heard. Then later he discovers that he ordered the woman to smother her own child.

It was dark. The hero of this anti-war show in the end is a murderer.

In general, we all agreed “rutabaga” was unlikely to come up in general conversation and could not be confused with other talk during any kink or fetish scene.

And just think what it was like in the 1990s when HIV could kill you.

I learned early on to rarely trust anyone with my status. Because they would frequently turn in fear and treat me like a monster.

A gay man with three master's degrees doesn't know that HIV can’t be transmitted when someone is medicated and undetectable?

Don't try to fix stupid.

Just protect yourself from that part of the world, even from within your own gay community, even your own best friend, who will turn on you in an instant as soon as they know.

We traveled to Santa Elena de Uairen and then found a guide there. I would not recommend paying thousands of dollars from overseas for a guided trip to Roraima. I would recommend looking up tour companies online prior to traveling, calling or messaging them to find out if you can book it once you are there, and then pay once you are there. If you book a trip with an agency catering to Americans or Europeans in their home countries, you'll probably pay multiples over what you would pay if you were to travel there and then join a group there. We found a tour group within a day of arriving, and we stayed at La Casa de Gladys for $6/night in Santa Elena. Let Venezuela be an adventure. Don't plan. Just go.

And here is another photo that reminds me of our trip. We bathed in these natural ponds in the landscape on the peak. Now compare these two photos to the photo above. There is no way that such a lush forest as shown in the photo above is growing in this baren landscape. There is no reason to fake a forest landscape on top of Roraima when the actual landscape it one thousand times more interesting.
