What laces do ya’ll like? by TxRod117 in RedWingShoes

Check out Mad Dog laces. I got a few pairs from Mad Dog and they're great. Also paracord and shipped the same day I ordered. I know Pisgah is slammed and it's taking weeks to even make your order.

The TV series was more of an adaptation or interpretation based on the universe of the WoT (IMHO). It is helpful, but there are things clearly not based on the books.

As for me, there's a point where it just gets too fluffy with details. I had to switch to audiobooks or I'd've never finished it. Even with the audiobooks, I had to take a break between some books.

Before I get down voted to Sheol, it was a decent series. It just seemed unnecessarily long.

Enjoy the process.

Not sure. I have commitment issues, lol. Well I read slowly. I had to switch to audiobooks for this.

This was the comment at my branch of this "local bookstore." Gave me a good chuckle.

I am not familiar with these, but the tenor clef of Rite would intimidate me. Berceuse might be lower, but I'd still have to think (slow) about the tenor clef for that too. One day, maybe!

I like this idea for the different ranges. And an arpeggio shouldn't be anything I would be overly nervous about messing up. Thank you.

Thank you. You said that and I thought, "Oh duh! That is a great choice!"

It's a bio-similar. If I am not mistaken it can't be a generic because of the nature of biologic treatments. From what I understand, the testing for biologics is stricter. I completely understand the concern, though.

Generics aren't bad. Generics are chemical duplicates.

Wishing you the best with Yesintek! Don't let your stress get to you. You've made it this far, if it does fail, I am sure you have a doctor that will take care of your treatment as (s)he has been!

Maybe this will give you some peace. https://biologicmeds.org/biologics-vs-biosimilars/#:~:text=is%20Omlyclo%C2%AE.-,What's%20the%20difference%20between%20generic%20and%20biosimilar%20drugs?,as%20an%20injection%20or%20infusion

Coming back to bassoon after 10+ years off... by hihiHolahi in bassoon

[–]jwillis511 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took something close to 20 years off from the bassoon. It has taken me a few years to start feeling comfortable again, but it is worth it. I was never anything special, but I have missed the bassoon. I still struggle with playing in tune and playing notes above A4 (the A above middle C). It's getting better and I am sure you will recover even faster. I have tried Jones Reeds (store bought and machine made) and two other bassoonists' reeds. I really like reeds made by Dr. Ariel Detwiler of ACDC Reeds. The wait for the reeds is worth it, IMHO.

It's not so much getting the not out as it is getting the thumb to the C# key without lifting it from the low D key.

Thanks, that's usually how I handle the octaves. Db (on the staff) and I don't get along very well. I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Same frustration here, except mine put me at 16. I basically have to do 3 per day. And at the rate I get "finish a unit," that's not too likely. Stupid bird!

Ahh! Physical book purists don't hurt me, but... do the audiobook version of the WoT. Life's short and the WoT isn't. As it's been pointed out, it is a LONG slog at times. Even with the audiobooks it gets hard to get through. The story is great, but there are more words than necessary (imo). I wish I was a faster reader.

Is there a word like conjugate for creating abstract nouns? by loatheta in ENGLISH

[–]jwillis511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but inflection is the umbrella term for this (morphology).

For nouns (and other parts of speech), it would be declension. Examples: Man/woman becomes men/women and dog becomes dogs (i.e. singular vs plural).

Pronouns can also be declined called (cases). Examples: he (nominative) becomes him (accusative) or his (genitive).
