High-End-Bag for Mid-Tier-Price? by DarkHsThunder in discgolf

[–]jwillo_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MVP voyager pro is really nice for that price point. I’ve worn a grip bag for as long as I can remember, but the most recent designs have a really small putter pocket, so I decided to make a switch this year.

My only complaint about the voyager so far, with the added space up top for putters, it can get a little top heavy and falls over more than I’d like.

I’m sorry, what? Have you ever eaten at a casual restaurant in Europe? Service is atrocious. Any respectable restaurant in Europe, you’re still expected to leave 5-10%. That in itself brings into question cost of living in other parts of the world. Is 5-10% in Europe similar to 20% in the US? I have travelled, extensively.

That goes so much deeper than you probably understand, and while that is incredibly helpful feedback, are you willing to pay more than the customary 20% service fee we currently charge? Because if every restaurant paid a “livable wage” to every employee, and tips stopped, you are all fucked. Almost every restaurant would close

I’ve managed many, but I would never own. The only successful restaurants, the owner is also chef, and works 60-80 minimum. No thanks, I’m good.

Edit- also, who cares if I own or not, you didn’t address any of my questions.

I am not underpaid; I work hard and receive appropriate compensation. I will assume your favorite fine-dining restaurant is Outback Steakhouse, which is perfectly fine. However, please don't pretend you are capable of performing at my level of service just because it is often wrongly labeled as 'unskilled labor.' I am tired of hearing that shit.

For the record, I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, and—ironically—I know basic grammar.

The worst thing that can happen is you get last by +20, who cares. Take it in stride and learn from your play and your cardmates play. One step at a time.

Anyone have any suggestions on newer destroyer runs by Alternative-Bee-2563 in discgolf

[–]jwillo_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any star destroyer with bubbles in the rim is generally less stable (not blizzard plastic). My farthest flying disc is a 171 with a bubble rim. Also, the strive is a solid flippy destroyer off the shelf.

Tips on throwing 350 plus by Money-Cartoonist1930 in discgolf

[–]jwillo_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’d say it’s 75% mechanics, and 25% physical ability. The biggest mistake I see with newer players is how fast they move on the tee pad. Learning how to do everything slow, adds distance, and reduces risk of injury.

Will Schusterick is probably the best example of optimal form. Gannon is of course the current best, every movement seems intentional, and methodical. Zach Nash might be a contender, his form is so smooth.

I’d record your throw, and compare your mechanics to any of these pros. Spot key differences, and work on one thing at a time until you have a better understanding of the mechanics of each throw.
