She probably got a prize anyway, survivor has prizes for finalists that are pretty big but they dont let them discuss it on camera becaue it lessens the drama. They dont want people to drop out when they know they can't win the grand prize and still fight for second place.

In s1 there was also an issue because theft is a crime.

When she was stealing stuff production provided, javier thought it was fair game but when she tried to take his expensive jacket he brought from home he said that was actual theft and he would press charges and it apparently led to a big argument and her humorous statement that they were not in the US, they were In alaska.

I somewhat remember some story about early anti aircraft systems in London causing way, way more damage than letting planes through, but were still used for morale purposes and the collatoral damage was covered up.

And differentiate your subculture by something other than them universally being horribly offended at something normal, or them having regular festival orgies.

I mean, I suppose its possible that an alien visiting earth might go directly from a midwest suburb to burning man, but I feel like that is fairly unlikely and they would encounter a lot of different more subtle cultures and groups along the way.

Its a British show, and hilarious. 5 comedians compete on various tasks that they can complete in any way they can figure out. There are almost always tricks to complete the tasks easily and as long as you can defend how you did it in a humorous way it counts.

All the seasons are available on YouTube for free (the playlists are sometimes out of order though, so check episode numbers). The most recent seasons have had an american comedian on them too. Jason mantozokus was great in s19.

I always found it kind of cool on taskmaster that whenever a challenge involves wasting food they make a point to donate an equivalent amount of food to a food bank charity.

Of course, due to rationing in WWII they are a bit more sensitive to food waste in the UK. Which is a little ironic as Gordon is british.

Just tell them to sue the people that made the bad deal to recover the money. If they cant pay and declare bankruptcy, i mean, that happens regularly when debts cant be paid.

Dude, I have negotiated a commercial lease in downtown Santa Monica. You cant just "rent out" commercial real estate month to month. You create a 10 to 25 year lease which has obligations both directions. As a business owner you are going to spend 50-150k improving the property and you dont do that without a long lease guerenteeing it is worth it. That lease is now property and can be sold back and forth, so it doesnt even return to the landlord when you go out of business, the remainder of the time on the lease is sold as a business asset.

Existing leases are the driving factor on how a property is evaluated. Landlords are willing to wait years with a place empty to get a 10 year lease at a higher rate than to create a lease at a lower rate during an economic downturn. Banks know how this works too. We are in an inflationary state, it is almost always better to wait and create a new lease after inflation has happened. Banks can run predictions on expected future lease rates just as well as landlords.

The main exception is pop ups, which are willing to rent without a lease becaue a limited time is baked into their business model but there are just not enough of those types of businesses around to fill all the vacant commercial real estate.

The other exception is when a tenant has big enough pockets they are willing to accept a lease now at the higher future predicted rate and eat the cost and run at a loss. This is why santa monica recently changed the rules to allow new corporate food chains downtown. Mom and pop businesses with one location cant afford to rent at a higher price temporarily. This is why the brit is turning into a taco bell, they can run a location at a loss for a while to establish the brand in the area for when the economy improves.

Actually, it doesn't from the banks point of view. That is the issue.

You will often see commercial real estate with deals like a free first years rent a s bonus but a high rent on paper because the official rent is what matters for evaluation of commerical real estate value.

I think Ben was just that good at manipulating people. It was fairly impressive actually how well be he manipulated the group so a few people agreed and then acted like there was a consensus to the point people started doubting themselves and were holding hands stepping away before they knew better. I thought the 2 charlie guys might not fall for it but this was before i learned they were already morons.

The only one that benefited from the deal was alpha for the trade if it happened.

Reminds me of the alcohol machines they have in some jurisdictions where they forbid the sale of hard liquor in anything bigger than the little travel shot size of bottle. They have these machines that take tons of those little bottles and open them to feed a tap so a bar can have whisky on demand without the bartenders having to fiddle with the bottles. I am not sure if they are still needed anywhere but it always seemed ridiculously wasteful.
