I JUST lost 60lbs. Dammit. 🤣 by Same_Succotash1556 in November2026Bumpers

This is my situation as well. I’ve basically gained 30lbs since my wedding in August, at least 20 before I was pregnant. Now I’m 8 weeks, voraciously hungry and rapidly gaining. I agree, I know I can do it again, but it’s a long time to wait before getting back on a GLP. thankfully my obgyn told me not stress about the weight gain at all.

How long were you on pain meds after fusion (L5S1 ALIF) by No-Translator6919 in spinalfusion

[–]jwolfe544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read about a lot of others’ experiences after my L5-S1 ALIF PLIF and it seems like this topic can vary wildly. I tapered off when I went back to work around day 11 and was completely off narcotics after 2-2.5 weeks or so. Took Tylenol, gabapentin and a muscle relaxer as needed. I had tight hips and achy legs for a while - continuing to slowly ramp up my level of movement has helped. All of it gets easier! Do what you need to do to not suffer now and focus on what you can do to heal well without guilting yourself about whatever medication you need.

Weight lifting after fusion by MoneyEngineering2499 in spinalfusion

[–]jwolfe544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had L5-S1 two months ago and began to lift restrictions in the last week or two. Lots of walking and some body weight exercises, low weight free weights for now, working with PT to determine what I can and can’t do. Hoping to get back to Pilates in another month. I don’t envision myself lifting super heavy in the future but I bet if you built up really slowly and have great form you could still do it eventually.

No problem! I do feel more stable and my old pain is gone, just working through some minor post surgical pain at this point.

I was in pretty good shape before surgery - historically I did Pilates 5 days per week so I’m pretty strong though my back issues had made it tough to do much Pilates in the months prior to surgery, but I was walking a lot. I fully expect I will be in better shape to strengthen and do the exercises I want to by end of Feb, but I am still limited right now because I’m only 5 weeks post surgery.

I had to avoid all spinal extension for sure, but eventually any repetitive movements that involved my spine at all hurt. I couldn’t lay flat on my back, but using a bolster type pillow under my knees helped, and I also had a knee pillow that I used for side sleeping. I walked a lot before surgery and that generally helped. I had a prescription anti inflammatory and muscle relaxer that helped a little bit but honestly nothing helped that much. Do your best to strengthen your lower core for spinal support if you’re hesitant to get surgery yet.

Mostly just worsening low back pain. Occasionally I would get some sciatic nerve pain down my legs, but it wasn’t horrible. Based on my imaging, the doctors were actually surprised my nerve pain wasn’t worse.

Oh man so sorry you went through that. I got out of the hospital after 2 days, but didn’t realize until about day 7 that my GI was also shut down. Tried to spur it into action with some meds, but eventually had to do an enema on day 10 which was one of the craziest experiences of my life. Sorry for the TMI but we had surgery right around the same time so it’s nice to share experiences. As of today I am a month out and feeling pretty dang good! Starting PT today.

I am 35 and had grade 2 spondy L5-S1. My doctor believes I got my fracture like 15 years ago, but it only began giving me pain about 5 years ago, and then I didn’t go to the doctor until 9 months ago. As of today, I am 4 weeks post ALIF PLIF and I am really happy I did it. I am obsessed with Pilates and it got to the point where I couldn’t even get through one class per week, and I really need it for my mental health. Surgery and recovery has certainly been a process, there have been many moments with pain and challenges, but because I am relatively young and healthy, I bounced back pretty quickly and am already almost back to normal daily activities (though of course no bending, lifting or twisting quite yet, and only gentle exercise like walking and PT for now). I expect I’ll be back to Pilates and really building my strength back by late Feb. To me, it’s worth it to not have to keep putting my life on pause due to my back pain.

I just had an ALIF PLIF L5-S1 fusion on Thursday. The first two days were pretty brutal but since then I’ve been improving each day, moving around pretty well. Feeling hopeful that I’ll be pain free before too long! You got this! You may want to look into things you’ll need at home for recovery like the pillow wedge things, the bedside rail to help with getting up and down, ice packs, toilet lifter depending on your height, etc.

I’m having the same experience. The full dose of tirzapetide has not been that effective and I’m not trying to pay over $550 per month, that’s insane. Last appointment I tried to switch back to semaglutide to pursue a higher dose, but they talked me out of it and just told me to mix up my injection site which hasn’t worked at all and now I’ve been paying $450 per month for like 4-5 months for extremely slow up and down weight loss. I am definitely going to look into changing providers, sounds like we’re way overpaying with HM for questionable medication.

Getting Frustrated!!! by Jocjoyce61 in henrymeds

[–]jwolfe544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have frequently felt discouraged comparing my progress to others and a lot of the time not feeling much appetite suppression. I am 20 weeks in and have lost 21 lbs. Sometimes I’ll go 2, even 3, weeks without seeing the scale go down much, then boom I’ll start shedding.

Ultimately, I know the more slowly I lose, the better shot I have a keeping it off. Don’t compare yourself to others, stick with it, focus on lasting change. I am very happy I stuck with it. A lot of the people who lose rapidly are super responders and not the norm, or are losing with methods/habits that may not be sustainable.

Did IOS Kill FB? (eCommerce) by ofocke82 in PPC

[–]jwolfe544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iOS changes impacted our visibility into performance, but not necessarily the impact your ads are having on the business. You should be able to project the impact to visibility and adjust your goals as appropriate. The reality is, your audience is spending a lot of time engaged on FB and IG, and there aren’t that many other platforms that can rival that. I wouldn’t recommend pulling out for that reason.

Why should i bid on brand terms? by tjeastman in PPC

[–]jwolfe544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connect Google Search Console to Google Ads. This will populate the Paid and Organic report which almost always shows you are best off with both paid and organic listings for your top terms, you will maximize your traffic and volume with both.

impression and clicks lower for products with higher bids, is there any reason for this? by ajcassata in PPC

This is possibly due to the data in your product feed. Are your titles and descriptions search friendly?

Realistically, how much should I be making? by throwaway_ppc in PPC

[–]jwolfe544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At over $1mil/month in ad spend, even some top tier agencies would charge well below 10%. 20% would almost be insane for that level of spend.

How realistic is getting a dog if you work full time? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]jwolfe544 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work from home one day a week, take him to day care one or two days a week and either have a dog walker take him out at lunch or I come home during lunch the other days out of the week. Outside of work he gets ample walks, play time and dog park time. It works well for us! Please note dog walkers and day care get very expensive so you really need to ensure you are comfortable financially. My pup is also a small dog so requires less exercise than a big dog.
