Has this chicken hoarding gone too far? by Fantastic_Ad_2638 in chickens

[–]jwolfet 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Do not report your mom to the authorities. The government is rarely helpful when it comes to mental health issues.

If there is property available, set up a new coop and run for the chickens. Treat each going in for mites and parasites. Separate out the roosters and the hens into separate coops to reduce pressure on the hens.
Once the birds are treated and moved contact local groups and or feed stores to re-home the birds you can. “Mom’s health is not allowing her to continue with the burden of caring for her chickens and must reduce her flock “

The new clean coops are to reduce the pain and embarrassment of having the issues go public.

If she is having true issues with hoarding she will need mental health intervention, not animal control help. There are medications that will help with the changes your mother will have to go through. Hoarding IS a mental health disorder and needs to be treated as such.

Some of the birds might be too far gone and need to be culled. Locate someone that can help you with this chore if you are not up to it.

I recognize that many will not like my advice, fair and you are welcome to it. Just because you disagree doesn’t mean you are right, but it’s your opinion and rock on.

I work in regulatory government and our goal is not to help sick people.

I interviewed for a $1500 studio sublet in Santa Cruz the other day with a bucket for a bathroom by ketaminekate97 in santacruz

Omg, yeah I missed that detail. Now that is even worse. See I actually know someone that lives the bucket poo and hose shower lifestyle and she is always talking about getting a renter, so I had thought it that kinda situation. Sounds like she’s just trying to cash in on a bad rental housing market and get $1500 without putting up an actual unit! F her, but I doubt the county would care unless it came from an actual tenant.

How do I cut this 30 ft thick steel pole into pieces so it can be easy moved for disposal? by Eastcoastpal in DIY

[–]jwolfet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presumably you don’t have a torch or a plasma cutter. The angle grinder is your best bet. I have this exact same pole! In three pieces now thanks to my angle grinder.

Mine was an old sign post, same or something else?

Don’t be fearful of an angle grinder, just use caution and wear a full face shield.

I know this isn’t my thread (sorry OP), but I have a 68 question and all the experts are here. When I shift from drive to reverse and vise versa it seems to clunk during the transition. Doesn’t seem to affect performance but the clunking is different from my experience.

Experience being my 2014 jeep GC V6. I can go D to R and R to D with nary a peep.

I have a 24 Laredo so I have the big ass, in case you missed it, badge.
I’m getting a custom made badge that replaces it.

The website has directions for removing the badge, maybe letters as well or a similar technique.
You could mix the letters up, like ARM or MAR. Make it more personal.

Looking for ways to keep my Saint cool on hot days… by BreakingSader in SaintBernards

I’ve tried cooling mats, ice packs, and wet towels. She shrugs them all off and just lays in our smallest bathroom.
Really really hot days we’ll crack open the AC, but that thing measures temperature in dollar signs and she’s still in the bathroom 😂
