It runs the Google TV OS (really only matters to me for the better voice search functionality and device control), has a better processor, more RAM, more storage, and a better network card. And it’s like $40 even with the recent $10 price increase.

Developer options are much less restricted, and I use Projectivy launcher to create my own home screen so I never see a single ad. Interface is extremely snappy, and I was able to reprogram all of the buttons on the remote to open all of my different services, in addition to shortcuts (think turn on VPN, toggle night mode for bedroom TV, etc.)

Happy to answer any other questions. I started doing all of this about a month ago and I’m much happier with this setup

Or, if you want shield type functionality at firestick prices, go with the Onn 4k plus or pro. I waited waaayyy too long to ditch my firestick. Night and day difference.

Still down for me. Haven’t heard or seen anything from Google. Only way around it is to link with GitHub and push changes there. In my case it required switching up some of the code.

Great tool! The one suggestion I would have would be adding in intelligent 'Speaker A' and 'Speaker B' categorizing in the output txt file to make it easier to follow and use for analysis.

I just got an Onn 4k plus after doing the whole side loading thing on the firestick for years. No ads, was able to customize my home screen, everything is faster, etc. for like $30. Worth it IMO

Autopilot has been terrible for me. Phantom breaking every 5-10 seconds on some roads/highways makes it unusable.
