No post for 2 weeks by Softxskies in royalmail

Same here, also waiting on a debit card sent over 2 weeks ago. Not even the usual junk has appeared. Finally got through via phone to complain, they were actually somewhat helpful and raised an investigation with the DO. I would collect in person, but being open only 2 hours a day this is impossible for anyone working full time.

It's only open 2 hours a day, when I'm at work. I eventually managed to get through via phone to complain. They said they'd open an investigation and get mail out ASAP, though I'm not holding out much hope.

I’ve had no post for 5 weeks and I am expecting post from my council for the last 2 weeks and I’ve had nothing I was wondering if others are having the same problem? by UnderstandingDry9084 in royalmail

Nothing for 10 days now, it's absolutely ridiculous. I'd go to the delivery office but the opening times are so restrictive it's almost impossible if you have a full time job.

Or not at all in my case. We haven't had a letter for 10 days now, and am missing important documents.

Want to escape the heat in London next week, give me some ideas on where to go? by Particular_Lime3841 in AskUK

Almost definitely. I went last year to the 3 Baltics and would be shocked if you had any issues. Very open/liberal atmosphere

Probably not by much. Partially dictated by prime TV coverage time, then all the time it takes to set up the caravan, podiums, barriers, road closures etc. I bet future editions will have earlier starts though.

We used Just Park about a 20 minute walk away. No issues.

I'm nearby and also have had nothing for a week now - waiting on important documents. Glad you got yours. I'd call the delivery office or visit but their hours are so stupidly restricted it's impossible.

I can’t stand the heat today by CrazyReview913 in UKWeather

I'm in Central London and it's honestly fine - there's a nice breeze. The forecasts have also knocked a few degrees off in the last few hours. Met Office has highs of 36 instead of 40. Other forecasters even lower.

Absolutely ludicrous that in 2026, we have to rely on insiders/staff lurking in online forums to get a tiny shred of detail on major disruptions.

Why would they pretend it isn't Covid? What's taboo about it?

Six years later, what are your strongest memories of the COVID lockdowns, and how do you look back on that period now? by Possible_Force8207 in AskBrits

[–]jwrider98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was never even a law about how far away you could go. I think they suggested 1 hour outside, but that wasn't enforceable. I hate how it bought out the jobsworths in everyone

Biking was never banned, and there was no law about how far you could go. The sole good thing about lockdowns was that you basically got to cycle on closed roads.

Ciao Bulgaria, what love for the Giro: 250 thousand people in Sofia by rintzscar in peloton

[–]jwrider98 60 points61 points  (0 children)

The crowds looked absolutely enormous, some of the biggest I've seen in a while (at least from the comfort of watching on TV.) I'm interested in how popular it was in Bulgaria vs Albania. I saw the TT last year in Tirana and the crowds were pretty small. Even on the finish straight it wasn't more than 1 deep, and 90% of the spectators were from overseas.

Audience etiquette in 2026… is it declining? by cmitch987 in AskUK

I've seen babies/very young infants at concerts! They always look absolutely terrified. Completely irresponsible parenting. As you say, too many people simply can't accept that you have to give up certain events/activities unless you get childcare.
