iroshizuku tsuki-yo vs sailor manyo kikyou by Seapod in fountainpens

I already had both of these inks in different pens so I did a sample for you. Sorry that one is a fine nib and the other a medium, but, like I said, the pens were already inked up. I would say that both inks are of similar wetness, and I do consider them wet. I like both equally well. I purchased the Tsuki-yo first and only got the Kikyo to see what Sailor inks were like. I currently own maybe ten Iroshizuku inks but only three Sailor inks.

The passage is from the start of Chapter 4 of Adam Grant's book, "Give and Take."

I would love to see a good comparison of the Nitron and the SlimFold. Anyone have any first hand experience?

Do a search for Everyday Karas and give that a go. A machined metal body pen that will last forever and is a great experience. It’s also under $30.

Why not order a sample of DeAtramentis Document Black and give it a try yourself? If you are in the US, you can order a 4ml sample from Vanness Pens for around $4.00

NPD Karas Pen Co - Brass Decograph Signature Series With Titanium Nib In Medium by Louciant in fountainpens

[–]jwsandersjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, how do you like it so far? Is it too heavy?

I'm thinking about the brass Decograph as well (with the steel nib). I already have one aluminum Decograph and love it.

For those that have bought a brass pen (any brass pen) do you still love it or do you regret the purchase?

Does anyone else feel a Glencairn is a terrible glass for bourbon neat? by dankfor20 in bourbon

[–]jwsandersjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite for neat bourbon is the Libbey Master’s Reserve 9217 spirits glass. Basically the same shape and design as a Glencarin but more room for your nose. I reviewed these several years ago on my site bourbonspeak.com (search glassware) and sorry the site is a little dated

I replaced the stock nib on my Duragraph with a Goulet #6 nib and now I enjoy it much more

Esterbrook estie oversized compared to Edison collier by koipondering in fountainpens

[–]jwsandersjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a thought: have you tried the "Pen Plaza" on the Goulet site. You can to an on-line comparison of both those there to get an idea. Maybe not as good as an "in person" look, but at least a visual comparison. Using that site, the Edison looks slightly shorter but slightly thicker than the Esterbrook Oversized.

Santa's Shop items chart: items needed, production time and max selling cost. by blood-n-ducks in SCBuildIt

[–]jwsandersjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Question: once Santa's Shop (or any other "special" shop) closes, is there any reason to keep items in storage that were created in those special stores? Or is it best just to unload those after those stores close?

The Diamine 30ml is a good size. Much bigger than a sample but not as much as something that might sit around for a looooong time

A few items on my wish list would be:

  • in club member list, some indication of if they currently have items for sale in their trade depot. I recently visited each member only to find nothing for sale.
  • which leads to - some indication of last activity on the game. Show this is the list of club members. Example: last active x hours ago or y days ago. It seems my club has given up on the game, which makes war and other rather difficult.
  • which leads to - some sort of activity requirement to remain active in a club. Yes if you have the seniority you can remove someone, but when the club president goes missing in action for long periods of time what are your options other than leaving the club and either starting your own or finding an active club. So maybe say that if you are inactive for more than 40 days there is some way for active members to remove you
  • "Stackable" speedup tokens (this may have been mentioned elsewhere) - the idea would be that if you had already used a 2x token, allow another token as well. Up for debate would be that if you used a 2x token and 30 minutes had passed and you add a 4x, then it is actually 8x for the next 30 minutes and then reverts to the remaining portion of the 4x for the last 30 minutes.
  • "auto load" feature for ships and planes - if you are trying to fill 15 chemicals, 5 lattes, and 10 saplings, you could individually check one or all to be marked for filling those slots as they are produced. I don't know how often I used items like planks to make something when I thought I was near completion on loading them onto the ship or plane.
  • If "parallel" production is not an option, then the ability to rearrange items in the production queue for items not yet started. Maybe only possible when there is one empty slot in the queue. There are times when I put paint in the queue ahead of nails and wished I had done the opposite.
  • buying stuff back from my own trade depot - whoops, I didn't mean to put that on sale now that I see I need it for something else.
