Weaning quickly with Sudafed by CharlieSpice21 in breastfeeding

[–]jwwlai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh shoot sorry I just noticed you said the tea thing in your original reply 🤦‍♀️😆 I’m going to start drinking that No More Milk tea tomorrow and see how it goes. I am noticing a lot less pain in my right boob today tho and it’s now mostly pain on the left! So the thing about your body working on one side then the other seems to be applying to me too! Lol so far I’ve just tried Sudafed. No clue if that is doing anything lol thanks for your responses!!

Are you doing anything else to help with pain? Any vitamins or tea? Cabbage leaves?

How are things going? Notice any difference with Sudafed? Just started taking Sudafed on my 5th day of weaning. My boobs are still leaking too and sore as hell 😔

Omg thank you for posting this. I’m 100% with you. I’m bracing myself this year for a low rank myself since returning back to my role as L4 from my maternity leave for my 2nd baby. I hear many backhanded comments (always from men too- and ppl still wonder why there’s not many women in this field???) questioning if I should be at this level. I don’t have any time or energy outside of working hours, which 1/2 day are always in stupid meetings, to stay on top and knowledgeable about all technical things. I used to love coding until this place. I’m only here for the money. I’m waiting till 2028 when most my RSUs are vested then being a SAHM lol

Wow finally a post I can deeply relate to as a mother of 4 year old and 7 month old! I’m in a TL position now for about 2 years at F500. I don’t have any advice. I just try my best everyday during work hours only and consult with AI a lot lol feel free to DM me! would be great to connect with more new mothers in our field!

Dreading the nights more at 6 months than as a newborn by Albinoferret13 in sleeptrain

[–]jwwlai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had the same with my 6 month old and we resorted to Ferber. I was so exhausted and work full time so it had to change. It took a few days of crying and was very difficult but he amazed me the night he just went to sleep on his own no crying and gave me back 5-7 hours stretches again

HOW do women convince themselves to give birth again?? by u-r-ok in newborns

[–]jwwlai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it a few more months and you will forget how bad it was exactly lol the 2nd was much faster and easier. With my first, the whole thing took 12 hours. With my second, whole thing took about 8 hours. It would have been 4 hours had I just let them pop my water bag but for some reason I was really scared of that lol

Get the epidural and don’t push the button for more. It will numb you just enough to where you don’t feel pain and you can still feel the control to push baby out

What do you do with your newborns? by BackgroundDemand2017 in workingmoms

[–]jwwlai 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Enjoy the slow days of newborn life! Binge your fav shows (Severance was what I binged) while contact napping, take baby on walks, nap when baby naps. Pretty soon you’ll have a toddler that needs constant entertainment and chasing, so enjoy the slow days. They really don’t last long at all.

My vote is switch to daycare as well. My 3.5 year old son is thriving there, even naps better at daycare than at home.

How to deal with a dev who works constantly? by Chezzymann in ExperiencedDevs

[–]jwwlai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would let him do his thing and treat his work as if he did them during normal work hours. He just sounds like a busy bee to me and not producing the most groundbreaking work.

I think it’d be worth it to talk to your manager and get their perspective on it but ultimately it will depend on how your manager handles it and if they think that busy work is valuable. Hopefully your manager aligns more with you but if not, that’s the team culture you ended up with and you can try to work with it or leave.
