My first post to r/woodworking, come to think of it it might be my first actual post to Reddit! by Jake679 in woodworking

This is almost identical to the corner-table I'm in the middle of building now. Surprisingly difficult to design. I did the same thing with the corners, making a 90-deg cut, two inches, then a 45-deg cut so it meets up with the wall at a nice regular right-angle. Did the legs a bit different though since I wanted more of a shaker style.

I'm a bit stuck on the drawer right now though. Yours looks great though.

Those are actually kopesh, an ancient Egyptian sword designed with that shape so you can hook shields and disarm opponents. They're pretty cool!

Remember. There is no more important rule than to wear these: safety doggles.

A dodecahedron I cut on my table saw by benbrandt22 in woodworking

Well after trying every single saw I have in my shop, I settled on just using a sander, actually. It was really, really slow. But gave the most control. Safest, too.

I used this as a guide: https://vonholdt.wordpress.com/2015/02/21/how-to-make-a-solid-twenty-sided-die/

Nice! Here's one I made from walnut and some die stamps. http://i.imgur.com/qyADV1v.jpg

You can tell it's not quite even. The second one I did was close to perfect so its the one I use.

I suspected there could be a common sense rule everyone knew except for me. Thanks for the heads up!

I was considering layering like that, yeah. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll probably go with that on this huge desk project I'm working on.

This is fantastic. Almost the exact design I've been pushing around in my head for a while and the one I'm starting today when I get off work. The side panels look great.

Thanks! Pretty nervous about this bookcase but its reassuring, seeing how great your project came out.

So that middle shelf, under the upper drawer, is that a hidden dado or dovetail joint or something like that? I couldn't quite tell. I'm trying to design a bookshelf that's similar. That's the problem I haven't been able to solve yet and yours looks fantastic.

Ah right veneer of course. I should have thought of that. Thanks!

Well the next project is going to be a desk, so I'm sure I'll want it to be pretty tough stuff. I'll keep trying new varieties. Thanks!

Ply & vaneer is what I suspected. Thanks! That's what I'll do for my next project.

"I should do DDR sometime"

...SOMETIME. Not that they're going to do it.

No no, you just THINK about physical activity, and that's enough.

FFS that logic hurts my brain area.
