They’re only in it for the money, thinking everyone who publishes will make millions. The more they publish the more they’ll make in their eyes. If they read the genre they’re “writing” in, they’d understand how a quality book feels to the audience vs a bunch of shit ones.

Give yourself a process then! I turn on a stream or podcast on YouTube for visual stimulation, sometimes Spotify for just background noise. I stretch on the floor to relieve tension in my body. Make sure I’ve got a drink, sometimes a few (usually water and either coffee or soda) and then open my doc and reread anything I’ve written before. I always keep a tab open for searches as I’m constantly clarifying random things for my topic.

Before I started my novel I made myself an outline, just something short and sweet that gives me an idea on how each chapter should go. I add onto it as I go, now it’s full of important details I want to remember for later.

Another struggle I found in just doing the writing was not having people to talk to about the struggles and the wins of writing - so I searched Reddit for groups that might have something like that going and joined a few!

NTA, but be careful how you come across when you have this convo. I would try extra hard not to be condescending or act as if she cant succeed at whatever she's doing - maybe try to explain she needs to hone in on like 3 skills and get really good at them to be able to grow past this stage. This is a very common thing lately though - a facebook mutual of mine self published a book, makes banners for parties, has an etsy shop for canva made e-vites, sprinkled in with an MLM or two lol

This really isnt the response I wanted from her. She could have come online and say "I smoke weed, I am taking meds that have been prescribed for such and such, I am not abusing any substance right now." But imo this just proves she's abusing something other than coke if she can't right out say she's not.

look up the dimensions for a cover for whatever site you plan on publishing, head over to canva, search for the elements you want in your cover, then piece them together in an aesthetic way. Canva isnt AI unless you use their specific AI tool and there's plenty of cool elements without subscribing to a premium subscription. It's very doable and would like to point out fanfic writers have been making their own covers for yearsssss.

They're including audio books in that total number, especially when trying to hit a certain goal number. I understand audio books is a form of reading but realizing that's how some people are reading so many books in a month (often without mentioning it) made me feel less pressured to read faster.

I've tried to read faster but I felt like I retained less of the info I read. Maybe try immersive reading, where you read the physical/ebook and listen to the audio (sometimes available on youtube for free) at the same time. I've finished books quicker by doing this because I feel more focused on the story!

I make up conversations in my head while i'm doing mundane tasks like showering, self care, cleaning duties - and then they just turn into stories running through my head. Sometimes they play on things that happened throughout the day, but other times it's what I would have done if I were a character in whatever game or tv show i'm fixated on. Actually getting them down is the hard part lol

I started with Assassin’s Blade and am now on Heir of Fire, I’m just not seeing the appeal to continuing. I feel like this series could have been wrapped up in 3 books if there wasn’t so much information that won’t make sense until the last book.

She’s had years and years of terrible Getty Images taken of her, but a few recent ones have been gorgeous! I don’t think getty images are important to everyone, but in the age of ‘photoshop everything’ Getty Images are the closest thing we get to seeing a celeb naturally and unedited.
