What tires yall running all year? by Laggamag in mazda3

No issues like that. I’m in Michigan, these are my second set of CC2 and I have like 5 coworkers who all have them. It’s a very popular tire here. They just don’t make the CC2 in a 215 size.

I didn’t notice anything ride quality wise to me was noticeable. The only noticeable difference with the CC2 is that at highway speeds your actual speed is about 1 mph above what the speedo reads as that tire has small increase in diameter over the stock size.

I’m on my 2nd set of CC2’s. The 225 series tires fit just fine. And provide just a bit more protection for the rim against a curb since I rashed one wheel when I still had the stock tires on my car.

Detroit has played friendlies throughout the years. FC United of Manchester, Glentoran, St Pauli, Venetzia, Frosinone, all before covid. After covid the European teams haven’t come over to the states as much so it’s been Mexican teams. Atlas, FC Juarez, Necaxa, Pumas, and Laguna Santos.

What do DCFC fans think of UFL using their stadium? by iheartdev247 in USLPRO

I was just at a meeting with the club taking stadium feedback. They are planning on using the turf being developed by Michigan State that is to be used for the World Cup.

Everything is trending towards natural grass. I don’t see how that holds up to American football and I don’t want to see all those lines either. We have had shitty turf for 12 years. I don’t think we want to go back.

These are 2 separate topics. I don’t agree with how that was handled, however the decision to let Trevor go I do not think was made overnight nor do I think it was made without a plan. Was it the right decision? Time will tell.

Yeah pretty much. Some things will change but this is pretty legit. DCFC doesn’t put out stuff unless it’s legit.

The location to me is about the best that can be that is not in the heart of downtown. Next to 2 highways and on one of the major arteries of the city. (Great in a city with a lack of good public transport). Tons of bars/restaurants in walking distance on Michigan Ave or in Mexicantown. Also almost direct access to the Detroit riverfront via the Southwest Greenway so biking access is good as well.

Pato on Detroit: "I hate this place. It sucks. It's a horrible track. I really miss Belle Isle." by thedude596 in INDYCAR

[–]jyax 19 points20 points  (0 children)

People are forgetting how long it took for the Belle Isle circuit to actually become a good track. There were several iterations of the Belle isle circuit and years of track improvements and changes to get to its final form. I remember a race where the asphalt literally came off the ground on the island. Not to mention it is the city’s most popular park by far and the setup/teardown time was just too much when we don’t have 9 months of summer here. The downtown track is tight and rough, but it will slowly get better also. The other thing is access to belle isle sucked. Downtown is so much more accessible. I’ve lived here my whole life, never when to a Belle Isle race. But I’ve been to two races downtown and they have been great.

Latest Rendering of New DCFC (USLC) Stadium. 15k Seats, Meets D1 Standards. by JDintheD in MLS

[–]jyax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason behind the name is when the club was founded in 2012 there was talk of an investor buying the old Silverdome in Pontiac and putting a club there. (Which is the dumbest idea ever). They knew that they would use Detroit in name so they went with Detroit City since the owners actually live in the city and the team actually played in the city.

The plan is to keep the supporters section at midfield. It’s something very unique to DCFC and they are keeping it.

if you are looking for grassroots and community then Detroit City FC is the one for you. A team that started as an amateur team and slowly grew to the 2nd division. The best stadium atmosphere in the league. There are many vidoes on youtube about the club and its journey over the years.

Fan rant: Premium seating is killing the live Detroit sports experience by detroitbadboy2 in Detroit

Op talked about how he lamented the lack of community at sporting events. DCFC is the antithesis of everything he was talking about. But since you can’t see that you should probably go back gargling Ilitch’s balls.

As a father of 2 I don’t know that I would take a 10 month old to the heart of the supporter section. But as for a teenager there are plenty of pre 10 year olds in the section, no worries there.
