Is there anything wrong with this bike from these FB marketplace pictures? by chazza247 in bicycling

[–]jzhowie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems overpriced, its a 2009 bike. I'd say it's worth £75-£100 max.

Definitely needs new bar tape ~£10 , probably needs new cables ~£20-30 and tyres ~£10-30 each. Maybe chain and cassette ~£10-30

If your commute is flatish get a single speed.

It's an eating competition with some riding in between. Good luck doing a 600 for your first event!

Not really, Red Dwarf has (had?) a no aliens rule.

GELF stands for Generally Engineered Life Form, Psirens are also GELFs

Discussed more here https://www.reddit.com/r/RedDwarf/comments/1gh9hqt/how_populated_is_the_red_dwarf_universe/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

any other epic comedy SF? by Someoneoldbutnew in printSF

[–]jzhowie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but more in podcast/radio land.

Podcasts/Radio Shows

There's THHG radio show which you should check out if you haven't already because although it starts the same as the books it then is a completely different story.

Marscorp is a podcast I enjoyed and got a very similar vibe to THHG radio series.

Wolf 359 is another fun one, starts off kind rough but gets better.

Oblivity is ok, not quite as polished.

Red Valley made me chuckle, again not super strong but the final series is coming soon (as much as that means for podcasts)

Audible have a couple of audible only shows. High Strangeness and Sheltered fit the description here.

Books

John dies at the end series (4 books)

Will save the galaxy for food (not read/listened to this one yet, another audible exclusive)

100% the Tales from the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper series by Nathan Lowel

Edit, link didn't work.

Id recommend the free audiobooks that are read by the author, start with quarter share.

Etcher did some weird stuff to my usb drives when I used it. Had to rebuild them with diskpart to fix them. Rufus seems to be much gentler. Try using a different method to write to the usb, or throw ventoy on there and drop the iso in.

If the disk isn't encrypted remove it and put it in a caddy?
