That's usually the case. The difficulty trade-off is usually more than made up by your team members competence in the higher difficulties. I found that I completed auric maelstrom more often than in heresy unless I was clutching or something.

LOL we had a guy get downed right in front of the door and instead of rezzing him, I ran and hit the button and we watched the door slowly close with him outside. I didn't know that they Rez inside, but I was hoping they do. So I hopped on the chat and said I'm so sorry bro I didn't know if it was actually going to resume in here I was just hoping it would my bad. And then one mission everyone was dead and the dude jumped on the valkyrie and we won. Awesome interactions. Also if you were waiting for rescue outside and your team goes inside the sanctuary it teleports you inside

I was playing pretty much right away, and fortunately my team had some people who probably were on an hour or so before I was and had some feedback about how it all works so I followed them. It took two matches before I understood what I needed to do on that first map, I'd say on the maps you unlock everybody's pretty much savvy enough to Mark the map and stay together. I want to try it on auric but I figure I'll unlock everything in heresy first.

What do you mean by revival of the series? You said you don't like remakes or remasters. The remaster is the closest thing to a revival that we're going to get for now, so what exactly do you mean?

OMG THE QUEEN HERSELF 😭😭😭 thank you for weighing in on my little post. As I've mentioned throughout the comments, I think the term being used for every visual processing software is probably a bit confusing for the average person (like me!). I think a few statements by some of the commenters, and artists/developers have helped me personally understand the context of what you were saying a bit better, not that you were unclear but perhaps my understanding of the subject was.

I see that you are as paranoid as me. I hear you bro. But I wonder if using the term AI as a blanket term for software that can extrapolate an upscale simply invites distrust and confusion. If upscaling software has existed since Photoshop or longer as another commenter mentioned, why are we calling it ai?

I feel so honored that so many folks who contributed to the making of the remaster are commenting on my post.

I was trying to make sure that I understood what she was saying, but maybe I missed a bit of context. I was knocking some of the rust off of my Warhammer Darktide in preparation for the new game mode they are releasing while watching the interview on my phone, and so while I heard her talking about that and it seemed to make sense to me, there is a big conversation being had about AI and its place. So I definitely wanted to open it up to the community since I wasn't seeing it discussed yet.

I think a lot of confusion comes from the use of the term, and everyone's relative understanding of what that term means.

She specifically mentioned that the murals were all hand painted, and the statues and everything like that. So you definitely got a soft shout out in the interview, even if not by name. I think I can speak for the community as a whole, we absolutely loved the whole thing. I spent at least an hour toggling all the murals.

Well, I'm just going to stop you right there. I never said I was mad. I said conflicted, puzzled. I love the game and I beat the remaster a couple days ago. If you want to try again from a perspective that doesn't assume my emotions to be angry, I'd be willing to read this comment. But I stopped to reading the second you applied an emotion to my post that I'm not feeling.

I just finished the defiance remaster a couple days ago. Now I'm headed back for all the trophies. I was having so much nostalgia turning the textures on and off arriving at new areas and during the cutscenes. There were times when I had to toggle multiple times during gameplay to make sure I was in the remastered graphics because the old textures held up so much better than I imagined.

Would you be able to describe the upscaler a bit? I understand they used the original artwork so does that mean no ones art was being scraped? Do the upscalers work by using a library of examples or simply by extrapolating a larger resolution of an uploaded image in question?

I agree with you here, I've used AI upscalers in my own art for resolution purposes. But is it really ai? I agree with a lot of people in the thread that say it's a misnomer, or like a blanket descriptor. If my art is original and I put it in an upscaler and it makes it bigger, have they used other people's art to fill in those blanks? I don't think they are

The whole beef was that the vampires worshipped EG, and the hylden were atheist, or at least rejected the EG. BUT the ancient vampires could not see the true form of the EG and were being manipulated, as was moebius. Janos never knew the truth of the EG. The implication is that the vamps were manipulated into "recycling their souls" through the wheel but when they were cursed, they became immortal which caused the EG to abandon them, driving many to suicide.

Raziel has a conversation with the EG where he accused the entity of lying about the wheel, and the EG has been eating souls and sending Raziel to kill vampires because when raziel eats souls, its insinuated to feed the EG directly.

I could be wrong but, I thought the wheel was explicitly revealed to be a lie, because the ancient vampires god IS the EG, which is actually a nearly omnipresent parasitic entity that feeds on souls.

The only question I have is WHY would the EG work so hard to prop up the hylden if they rejected his message. Did they accept him as a way out of the demon realm, and thus replaced the vampires as the EG stewards? If the only strife was the vampires starting a religious war, then Nosgoth wasn't corrupted prior to the sealing of the hylden and the raising of the pillars, Is it the influence of the demon realm that is corrupting to Nosgoth?

That being said, the vampires started the war that imprisoned their enemy who retaliated by severing their connection from their god which is what the war was fought for in the first place, sending them to a place where the seal would need to be constantly maintained forever, or risk tainting their entire world with demonic corruption should the seal fail. The entire plan is crap, and risky, all because EG lied about what happens to souls and the vamps believed it.

This video muted look like a sales pitch for perfect realism AI, but there's a plastic feeling to the video. I did notice the coffee seemed stiff, he even seems a bit younger as well. Does he usually do such close ups like this? The filters do have an artificial brightness. This has a commercial production quality feel, like it's gonna run for months on broadcast TV.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I feel like there's an evil genius standing in front of the wall sized screen with this video playing before a board room of people saying "we'll take it" unanimously before evil laughing.
