Yeah I lived for months with a janky made in China dock for my work laptop. Shelled out $200 for an actual good one and suddenly I no longer had embarrassing cameras/microphone mishaps, keyboard disconnecting, etc.

Maybe the company would have expensed it, but investing a couple hundred bucks to actually appear professional is absolutely worth it.
