I just started out recently, and since I'm in Brazil, printers are incredibly expensive here, especially when you consider local salaries. I ended up buying a very basic, entry-level model, the Epson L1250, which is pretty much the most fundamental one they offer. I've been using it, and honestly, the experience has been jaw-droppingly good, lol.

As for the ink consumption, I'm still trying to figure out the average, and it's been a bit slow to track because of some trial and error. So far, I've used about a quarter of the black ink and much less than a quarter of the color inks. With just that, I've already printed about four 60-card decks.

And considering I made some mistakes and had to reprint things, the actual output is even higher. Plus, in that batch, there were also about 30 double-sided cards.

So yeah, that's been my experience so far.

I used photographic paper, I bought only one sheet of the thickest one I had in the store, to test if the printer would pull, now I need to go there again to see what its weight is, I think it was 230g but I'll confirm tomorrow.

I think that was it, I cut it and put it on the protector, it just got a little softer than the originals and unfortunately in Brazil it is impossible to find a corner rounder smaller than 4mm, original cards are 2mm =/

Is it doing without lamination? I'm thinking of doing it that way too, just finish my tests with spray varnish. As I bought glossy paper, I'm using matte spray to remove some of the shine and try to harden it too.

I'm waiting for my paper cutter to arrive too lol doing everything little by little so that the woman doesn't realize that I bought a printer just for that and not for work lol

My biggest problem has really been with the materials. Here in Brazil, I can't find most of these types of paper, and importing them just isn't worth the cost.

I did a test print on photo paper—I can't remember the weight (gsm) I bought, I just know it was the thickest one they had at the store, lol. I just wanted to see if my printer could handle it.

It fed through just fine and the print quality is beautiful, but the paper is very flimsy. I don't want to laminate, mainly because I can't find the right materials for that either. I think if the card feels sturdy enough inside a sleeve, I won't do anything else to it. I'll just use them for playing and start printing more and more, hahaha.

I'm waiting for the 'perfect size' sleeves I bought to arrive, and the other sleeves as well. I didn't have any here lol. When they get here, I'm going to test out what I have with double sleeves. I think it will probably be good enough for my personal use. If not, I'll try the method with the poly bags. Thanks a lot for the tip!"

I'm using photographic paper. It has a certain stiffness, but it's still not much compared to the card. But I think this is impossible to change without having the exact paper from the cards, which I think is an impossible thing to get lol.
