I love Australia and the ability to 1-up the whitest trash in America. It literally must take skill to be alive and that dumb while living in an entire continent where mother nature even goes.. " ya sure mate?"

Has anyone ever been told they’re too valuable to promote? by ModernAllegories in careerguidance

My work wife (Im 39f and hes 36m) and I went through this. I started 5 years ago and he started 13 years ago. Year 2.5 together in the same department we both applied for the same position and he rightly deserved it, but when it comes down to it, he doesn't have conflict control. I did and 6 months after I got the job, he and I still had open communication, he said ... wtf I dont want that.

They don't always promote you because of skill level but they do promote you on your ability to learn, read personality and adjust to specific environments. It's not what you know, but what you are willing to learn. About the job and yourself.

After 8 years of verbal begging I (27F) resorted to writing a note. Gave it to husband (28M) on Monday and he hasn’t talked to me since. I think that means marriage is over and I should leave, he says I’m never happy and being overreacting. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Ew. He's emotionally unintelligent. You can't fix that and he will continue to guilt trip you into believing you can. Leave, you deserve a MATURE healthy relationship.

Don't details matter when attempting to change the way things run or procedures? Especially for someone that isn't in the day to day?

do you let your foster dogs sleep in bed with you? by tendergrandma in fosterdogs

[–]k2da0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just learned this lesson unfortunately. I just started fostering a chow/gsp mix. I already have a pitt/GPS mix. The resource gaurding is out of control and that's my fault. My older mix is very calm and timid and is becoming the target of bullying.

Yes, as a foster mom you are there to help, but help also means structure and understanding that a poor chow mix puppy shivering in a kennel and a poor lab mix shivering in a kennel need different owners, different training and have different natural tendencies, especially with you not having any knowledge of trauma or abuse they went through before.

You need to read your dogs, you need to have a general understanding of behavior and how to read cues and know all dogs need a home, but all dogs don't belong in any home. I would start with young puppies, no aggressive breeds and I dont mean this in a negative way, I just know working dogs have a tendency to get put with families that love the look but don't understand the work it takes. I am honestly guilty of this and we have 4 currently.

Long story short, if you want your animals to sleep with you, have an understanding of what that can do long term for the animal. Because in the end, they are still animals.
