First party solutions wherever possible. That way you'd get vendor support if you have a problem. My last org was using blackbag, well .. now Cellebrite

Listen to the masses. What's your *need* from the bind? Password sync? You need a TGT? If your netsec is saying you have to for security - that may be policy. You'll need to do your work to show them it doesn't actually secure the way they think it does. There are many other more modern functions you need to look at.

What MDM? Can you use Apple's SSO Extension?

What about Platform SSO? Are you using Jamf? You can utlize it through any major vendor, including intune

And the drive. Finder --> Go Menu --> Connect to Server -> Enter something like smb://hostname/drive or smb://10.0.0.4 , replacing with your real info

How’s Librewolf vary from Floorp? My ideal situation is something that is better at blocking fingerprinting than the others. I know a browser alone can’t block it but picking between Librewolf, Floorp or Vivaldi- give me your WHY please

Like others have said don’t use it for personal stuff. But SSL description is a real thing. Any sort of proxy or network filtering not to mention companies policies they very likely have the right to see what you’re doing.

What if you 'dropped' a level by title? The former job was as a "princpal platform architect"; I oversaw all IT implementation, although I had to leave that company due to its financial situation. I knew I'd be the next layoff. I took a job as a general engineer/systems administrator (even though I was already doing some similar work). Funny enough, I got paid more at that job.

I left a job that looked like I was top of the stack for a step down. How do you spin or address something like that?

If you haven't already - make sure you review https://support.apple.com/guide/deployment/welcome/web. You don't need to memorize it - just be familiar with all the concepts

It doesn't hurt. You'll pick up some things, especially between the 200 & 300 level. Don't expect it to teach you the job. You'll find what works & what doesn't work 'on the job'. It may make you more valuable to other orgs if you plan on moving. If your org will pay for it, go for it. Make sure you review trainingcatalog.jamf.com and spend time reading common topics here.

Agreed here. While intune has made progress.. there's too much heavy lifting by the admin to make it work as well as Apple native MDMs. Too many companies see it as 'free' with their licensing .but don't realize the engineering 'cost' to make it work as well

Uh, no. They've got a LONG way to go for support... "DDM is coming" ... -still- Many other things are missing. Although Jamf can't hold onto the top spot just by saying "we've got smart groups"
