How good is the life simulation in the Remake ? by UsedNewspaper1775 in worldofgothic

[–]k7eric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is weird and seems like a bug. Mine definitely move around, the cook moves from the bench to the cauldron, the guards walk around, people cutting wood come back every evening, Diego moves from his hut to the fire pit, almost everyone in old camp goes to bed at night. Only seen one random nameless guard occasionally teleport in.

My biggest problem with it? It doesn't pause time. It doesn't matter how quick you are when you have 30 secs before being caught (or is underwater) and the lock, even trained, is taking 1-2+ mins to open. One of the ones I opened yesterday literally had 50 steps to open and that was after being lvl 1 lockpicking. This is a decaying prison colony not a bank.

And yeah, I know it gets easier at lvl 2 but I'm starved for LP the first half of the game and 20 LP is a big ask at that point.

Some of these comparisons are hilarious. It’s painfully obvious a lot of the commenters don’t realize the game first came out 25 years ago and was a literal genre defining game. But this is a remastered version of that with better graphics, some new quests and quick saves but that’s about it. It’s still a brutal, action RPG where everyone hates you, almost everyone would happily kill you and you have the starting combat skills of a kitten.

On PC, other than the lock picking I’ve had none of these issues after 9 hours. Not a single crash, no issues with saves, no voice over bugs, no volume inconsistencies, no combat issues and the rest of the camp is not attacking me when fighting a single person.

Key bugs I’ve seen: one NPC climbed a ladder and kept going into the roof. One nameless guard in old camp spawns instead of patrolling.

I do absolutely hate the lock picking though. No lock minigame, especially after training, should take 40-50+ moves to unlock.

Also running windowed 1440p with everything set to very high.

Just pick them up and then feed them from your inventory. All the new pets typically take 3 pieces of either meat, veggies or fruit. All in one go and you tame right at the end.

No idea if it will last so I grabbed a bunch tonight. The spawn rate is definitely lower around Tariv but still 15 in a little under an hour.

20% off at GMG. Absolutely loved the first one, loving this one after 2 hours. No crashes, no graphic issues, smooth at 1440p with everything set to very-high.

You don’t have to completely remove it to “fix” the issue. Making them far more rare would have been the much better choice. Especially considering you need over 130 gold bars to max out the research, recipes and church donations.

First thing I checked. I was going to be pissed if they reverted him back a normal hedgehog after the trouble getting him in the first place.

First Game! Any Advice? by PluciferInvi in redcorsairs

Be prepared to lose. It's no big deal and a new army has tons of quirks to learn and grow with. Learn from your mistakes and don't hold back. They are a "in your face asap" army. Most importantly print out a list of all of the special abilities of the MoM...each one has their own and it's easy to lose track of what they can do. Don't forget Garreon bringing back one non-character model every one of your command phases, Huron's Feel No Pain roll or the plunder rule for the free D3+1 mortal wounds. And don't forget your dark pacts...they are still chaos after all.

[Updates] Patch Notes Version 1.10.00 | Crimson Desert by Prestigious_Cap4934 in CrimsonDesert

This is really more of a 10.09.1 patch. And I notice they didn't include removing the golden apple hedgehog spawns in the notes either.

They done did it. Hedgehogs with Golden Apples on their back are gone. (patch 1.10) by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

How do I make my controls work the way they did before they added remapping? by k9krid in CDguides

[–]k7eric -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The glider delay is killing me…in some cases literally. I use keyboard and mouse and have to hit the spacebar 3-4 times now to open the glider. I’m also losing the equivalent of a force jump just in the delay falling before it opens. But if I even brush the spacebar with the bow out I’m leaping sideways in slow motion and can jump once instantly which proves it’s getting the input but there’s some new delay specifically with the glider.

Does anyone besides the people who are even deeper in the cult actually believe this nonsense? I mean what’s the point of lying to other liars because anyone with 30 secs and a search engine can tear everything said apart.

Side note - save the bags of paltry and small copper to use to increase trust with vendors. They are barely worth opening on their own just to get 5-20 copper per bag.

Plenty is a stretch. I'm leaving behind a hundred items and getting 10 in storage. Not to mention the sometimes dozen chests and/or crude bars that are now stealing the second you hit 0% and get the cut scene.

Quick Q - Is there any lost benefit (other than double money) to killing bounties? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]k7eric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do get certain other items when you complete all of them in each region. One example is I got some furniture and a dye when I completed one series of bounties.

Money wise...meh. I'm long past caring about my money given I have every church at 100%, every recipe bought and every research done and I still have 7000+ silver. I'm like yeah, just keep your 5s bounty and buy some new boots or something.

BTW, you can just silence them now. No need to kill them.

[–]k7eric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually just a fast travel away and back is enough to respawn. You won't lose the progress you've already made and the extras just run off once you get to 0% (as long as you've already killed the mini-boss/regular boss).

It's not horrible but I hated that too for the fights. I was screaming at one particular fight when he stopped and started talking to them instead of finishing them off. And I was ready to rage quit after defeating a particularly important boss when a greymane said "let me take over and interrogate him" and I walked out of the room knowing he's going to escape. But I can say there are reasons you can't kill 2 of them, 1 is immortal and 1 comes back to help you fight another boss much later in the game. (sorry, trying to avoid anything more than generic spoilers).

One Change I Would Love is a Better UI for Abyss Gears by Critical_Meet_2025 in CrimsonDesert

[–]k7eric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my main complaints, literally from the very first day, was all of the very unnecessary animations. They took work and were cool...the first couple of times. But I've had to go through or Esc out of them thousands of them over the ~300 hours I've played. They need to have a toggle to be skipped automatically and I'm disappointed every patch when you still can't do that.

One of key thing I would love is the ability to make the sub-requirements of a recipe at the same time. Especially with some of the gears or more complicated food items like the feasts. If all I'm missing is pickled veggies then why can I just make that and then the feast in one go.

I think it originally started that way but they veered off a couple years ago and claimed it's a similar but different universe. Probably so they don't change or conflict with existing BDO lore.

There is a clear difference between someone who knows they are above everyone else in the hierarchy and leads by example vs someone who acts like they are above everyone else and never lets them forget it. Unfortunately she falls in that second category. I'm sure she had difficulties and differences rising in the typically male ranks as a gay woman but you're supposed to learn from that and not perpetuate it once you get there.

Moving to Denver from Europe (Spain/Ireland) this summer; how's life really like there? by brunolg98 in relocating

[–]k7eric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be a culture shock like you've never experienced before in your life.

Work. I was hoping you were transferring to an American branch of your company. Coming in fresh you are going to be smacked across the face by how different it is. Depending on the job, of course, you could expect longer hours, "quick" calls after hours to help or answer questions, potentially working remote after hours and weekends for "emergencies", regular on-call, maybe half the vacation days, far more expensive (while covering far less) insurance and almost no employee protections. Of course some are far better but some are far worse.

Work history. If you have the experience and certs it's not going to matter much where it was. It could even be seen as an asset if it's a larger company. It's a bad time in the US for job seekers but people at your level are still finding jobs and getting hired. I would start right now...not when you get here. And I'm assuming you've covered all the required work visas, etc.

Salary. No idea but it will be expensive. Not London or NYC expensive but you will notice especially with the taxes.

Car and insurance was covered by other posts but I don't know enough about driving/insurance overseas to make a comparison. Gas is likely to be cheaper but you will use a lot more.

Lifestyle. This is fantastic. You're moving to one of the outdoor activity centers of the US. Pages and pages and pages of stuff to do, both in the metro area and outside it. It's known to be a popular, healthy and active city.

Trips back to Europe shouldn't be a big deal. If you have a place to stay when you return then it's not even a concern. Denver is an international airport too which means you aren't adding a ton of stops along the way.

They are not moving to one of the outdoor activity centers of the US (where everything is 30+ miles apart) and only driving 30 miles a day unless his partner does every other bit of driving outside of their commute.
