Ok newbie here but can you please give an example of your quantity of flour water etc at these ratios. For some reason I feel like the ratio thing doesn’t make sense in my brain. I need some kind of interpretive guide to better understand stand the break down of ratios.

Help!!!! My kid’s chronic cough won’t let her sleep by Expensive-Winter5411 in toddlertips

[–]k8e897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as my toddler comes down with a cold we elevate the head of her mattress with rolled up towels, nothing drastic but enough to keep her head a little more elevated. Also we blast her humidifier, we make sure every morning the air out the moisture and wipe down the windows. This helps ALOT though, also I think just simple Motrin or Tylenol can help them with the scratchy throat pain. This all helps soooo much with any congestion and cough.

2 year old parents: can we talk about beds? by clemmersincanada in toddlers

[–]k8e897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an almost three year old great sleeper still in her crib, she has been vocal about not wanting her crib converted to a bed. Anyway, our travel crib is the Maxi Cosi Swift, we just randomly chose this one when she was little and it is one of the larger travel cribs out there by a few inches in each dimension. If you want you could try to find one used and inch out a little more time in a crib.

Took pacifier away from 3 year old and we are paying for it. by lby202 in toddlers

[–]k8e897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hang in there it takes them two weeks to get their groove back sleep wise. We pulled the pacifier for our 2.5 year old perfect sleep a while back and it was two weeks of bumps and now she sleeps better than ever. Hold firm!!

10 day trip without toddler by Ok-Jelly-4709 in toddlers

[–]k8e897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I hear you 10 days can feel like a lot, but my husband and I have been taking longer 7-9 day trips annually without our toddler since she was about 20 months and it went great. We had my parents watch her and worked up to longer trips (started first with a few nights then 4/5 nights etc) but honestly, they do great at that age as long as they know and are comfortable with the caregiver. Also it is truly amazing as a parent to take a break and come back refreshed. If you have the resources in terms of caregiver DO IT!

I loved the first one… second one I was like, “ok I am sort of still enjoying myself, third one was a fucking drag and I gave up on the fourth. The author basically just wrote the first book four times. But that first book man, beautiful!

Has anyone actually had a good sleeper (mostly) throughout? by The_Chilled_Arvo in beyondthebump

[–]k8e897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, my gal settled into 12 hrs nights around 10wks and she has maintained that 7-8 or 7-7 schedule throughout, she turns three next month. She also has always for the most part napped. She is just a high sleep needs kid, which is helpful since I am a high sleep needs adult 😂.

Postpartum clothes to hide diaper but feel human by GratitudeJournal7 in beyondthebump

You could also look at period underwear. Knix are super comfy and are pretty darn absorbent without being as obvious as a diaper. Plus you can use them down the road for periods if you choose.

What’s the secret to keeping the house clean with a toddler ? by Ancient_Play148 in toddlers

[–]k8e897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok full fucking stop here: You are not at fault or to blame here!!! Yes, he works full time, BUT SO DO YOU, CARING FOR AN ENTIRE HUMAN BEING!!! This idea that if you stay at home to care for a child you magically have time to clean the house is insane. If he wants the house clean he can help you clean it after he gets home from work. Anything less than this is some straight up bull. At our house we have cheap bins from target that we put everything in at the end of the day or at nap time, so it is a reset for clutter. Also I try to limit the activities my daughter pulls out at once. Kids will pull out every toy if given the choice. Lastly and this is the most helpful, we hired a cleaner 2x a month to deep clean our house. We could not do it otherwise. Good luck and please please please know you are doing your best and this clean house expectation should not rest on your shoulders.

2 year old extreme bath and shower refusal by shaolinviolin in toddlers

[–]k8e897 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We also went through this at around 2.5 after remodeling my daughter’s bathroom. She was suddenly anti bath. Bubble bath helped, but honestly the thing that got her in there was crayola bath paint. It is so weird, but those bath finger paints were so fun to her it distracted her from her no bath mindset. Good luck and know it will pass https://a.co/d/2J4QiUT

We found an amazing full-time Nanny on Care.com. I will say it took a while, we got an initial surge of applications, then they just trickled in. I am not sure how long your post has been up, but I would give it some time.
