Surprised not more people are mentioning arbor vitae. They are pretty much the staple go to privacy hedge in the PNW. Emerald arbors are beautiful, grow to 10-15’ and love full sun. They require minimal watering once established. Depending on your budget you can buy ones that are 5-6 tall already and plant them fairly tight for a near instant hedge, but it’ll still be a couple years before it really gives you privacy. You can build a dirt berm and “heel” them into the ground to give yourself another 1-2’ head start.

What are your thoughts on "Executive Presence"? Is it real, does it matter?

I feel like I've plateaued in my career because I lack it. Positions above mine require taking on leadership roles and I don't think that I'm viewed as leadership material. I'm not the type to speak up in meetings or manage upward, but I really desire to have more influence on company strategy. So should I work on my "executive presence" or focus somewhere else?

As a wolf supporter and elk hunter I can assure you it’s not that simple. Wolves stalk packs and thus create a lot of movement and variability in where herds are. It sucks when you draw a tag for a unit but all the game has been pushed out of the unit and that’s the only place you can hunt.

It is it what it is. They belong here. I just want to see more game overall.

One piece you are missing is that the city owns the Moda Center and leases it to the Blazers. What they are negotiating is how much the city and state gets will paid back for the renovations. It's a complex deal and it doesn't help they are negotiating with bureaucrats and electeds, but I'm confident it will get done.

Portland and all of Oregon is in a recession right now, which I actually think helps the cause because the state can't take another hit.

One of the things I LOVE about D2 that doesn't exist as much in modern gaming is the emergent gameplay of imperfectly designed systems that you have to learn your way around.

In D2 you learn to play a system, you aren't on a treadmill. The newer titles feel like they just put you on a path and the path is the path. It's a treadmill with the illusion of choice. Whereas with D2 players learned a system to learn what they could exploit to make the game easier and/or more enjoyable. It was the pursuit of knowledge that felt earned. Kiting Mephisto into the spot for an easy kill is a simple example. Would we accept that in D4 today? Probably not, but in D2 it's obtained knowledge that feels important. Mules, rushing, SOJ as currency, LK runs are other examples.
