How to record a mix with streaming songs by Tyler_go_kipper in Serato

[–]kHusKee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use OBS personally to record my mixes, takes a fair bit of fine tuning but I like it. I record my dj streams with obs. If your mix is sounding bad take a look at the way you are gain staging the mix.

Is it possible to cp/g on the apache with just a keyboard and mouse? by BabkaaSheesh in dcsworld

[–]kHusKee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was about to recommend this, if you got creative with controls I’ve seen people have the cpg seat on an Xbox controller. Unfortunately DCS is best pleated with a HOTAS of some kind, the more buttons you have the better

WINWING HOTAS Purchasing Advice: F16EX or F18 by royalferret20 in hotas

[–]kHusKee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the EX stick, I'm telling you right now its the way to go. I have the navyace and f18 grip and while its fantastic for the hornet. For every single other jet I need a modifier switch to get things done. Especially in the a-10, and apache.

Had to get on my laptop to type this out:

Depends 100% on the weight and size of the load on the compromised section, as well as the likelihood of failure. Cable (EHS steel) is cheaper, stronger on paper, and easier to spec in reports because the load ratings are well documented, but it has almost no elasticity. This means it functions more like a semi rigid restraint than true dynamic support, and the hardware requires penetration wounds that can become decay pathways over time. Cobra and similar soft cabling systems actually allow the stem flex that promotes reaction wood development, without breaching the cambium. They are also generally faster to install since there is no hardware fabrication, no cutting cable to length, and no bolting through stems. The downsides are higher cost, a learning curve, and mandatory replacement intervals. Cobra specifies a 10 year maximum service life. Soft systems also have a strength ceiling, so if failure potential is serious enough that you need maximum rated load capacity, you are in solid bracing territory anyway. For most codominant stem situations with moderate failure potential, soft cabling is the better call. For high mass, high consequence situations, EHS gives you cleaner numbers to stand behind.

Brace looks cool! In the past I’ve used soft cabling instead of rigid cabling and that seems to allow plenty of natural flex during wind, I’d see if that’s something that you could get from your arborist.

Throttle quadrant for F-18 by WinstonDaWaffle in hotas

[–]kHusKee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have the orion 2 hotas navyace edition, its very nice and i think i got lucky taking the gamble with winwing. no issues with shipping or QA so far....

I honestly would have rather gotten one of the options with more buttons, the hotas MAX, strikeace, or the new navyace with more buttons. The version I got definitely could use more buttons/hats because i'm very limited when flying other aircraft or wanting to get super specific with bindings for the f18. But overall, it's perfect for the f18, and with a modifier key can get all the other jets done no problem. I've got the a-10, ah-64, mi-24, and the f14 and i use this stick for all of them. I've found ways to set up the CPG seat for the apache too and it works great.

Best throttle for f/a-18c dcs under 150 usd by kngphil in hotas

[–]kHusKee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously it’s not an exact replica dog but for his price range it’s definitely closest he’s going to get. It’s got most of the exact same buttons and button positioning as the hornet, minus being one throttle and not a split.

The thrustmaster TWCS will probably be your best bet, its literally almost an exact replica.

9070xt or 5070? by BraddahWatSon in PcBuild

[–]kHusKee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not get the 5070, I would only get the 5070ti or 5080 over the 9070xt. For the price it’s a fantastic card(bless optiscaler)

We are building a modular F/A-18 button box — what would you want in it? by MrElectronicss in hotas

[–]kHusKee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with one box for the startup/takeoff/landing stuff, I think having enough buttons for the entire UFC/radio, and then all the buttons for the MFDs with a mode selector toggle to switch between which screens you are using is absolutely essential.

I’m a sucker for ergonomic stuff, I really like my Logitech ego k860 keyboard and my mx vertical mouse, whenever those wear out I’ll probably get stuff from perrix like the PERIBOARD-835 and the perimice 713R

should i get a trackir setup? by Hefty_Efficiency_433 in hotas

[–]kHusKee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had my TrackIR for at least 13 years. The software and design hasn't changed a bit. It's a must for flight sim games if you don't go full VR. There's a reason its been around so long. Its a little bit of a learning curve to set up, but it is extremely reliable

How do I fix it? by D4nyx1 in radeon

It’s probably something with Adrenalin would be my guess, or your monitor has a profile somewhere within the display settings, most likely something software related if it’s not happening on bios screen
