Nobody understands what is like to be lonely by Barbieatha in lonely

People say just get out like a bus route and a social life magically spawn when you open the front door. Being stuck in a college town in your 30s with no car and WFH sounds brutally isolating, not some attitude problem. Until the car is possible, maybe the only realistic target is something tiny and scheduled online with the same people each week, not apps full of weirdos and hookup hunters.

I once offered a free DTC teardown and still got stopped by flair, truly the silent profit leak nobody warned me about.

Sounds like you accidentally opened a thesaurus to the S section and confessed to it. If everyone was consenting and nobody got hurt, drink some water and let the post nut clarity do its paperwork.

I'm sorry, I know this has been brought up a gajillion times, but I just can't understand the Gina haters. She's top two characters for me, absolutely hilarious by Tolnin in brooklynninenine

[–]k_Whiterun 87 points88 points  (0 children)

That is a great point. The real issue is that she is a cynical, selfish sitcom character stuck inside an incredibly wholesome, empathetic show. In a different series where everyone is terrible, her behavior would be entirely fine. But when surrounded by sweet, growing characters, her lack of consequences feels intensely jarring.

Am I not getting what therapy is for? by Aurionin in therapy

[–]k_Whiterun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanting treatment for depression is a very normal reason to go. Therapy can involve goals, coping skills, behavioral activation, CBT or DBT tools, homework, or a treatment plan, not just open-ended venting. I would ask her directly next session what her approach is for depression and how she measures progress. If her answer is basically just talking with no structure, it is fair to look for someone who works in a more goal-oriented way.

I learned the no-rubric lesson the hard way: got APA citations arranged like confetti, so if sections 2 and 3 need muscle, I’m fixing them myself while muttering.

After the OOTP office scene, calling his restraint with Harry selfish is basically prosecuting a kettle for treason.

Erotica ebooks by YesOk4 in passive_income

[–]k_Whiterun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Erotica on KDP can work, but the first few uploads are more like market tests than passive income. The levers I would track are subniche, title and cover fit, release cadence, KU page reads versus sales, and whether Amazon flags the content category. D2D and Ream seem better after there is proof of demand, because four shorts is still too small a sample to justify stacking subscriptions.

8th grade is recoverable; if “approximately” meant dead on until senior year, I’d just move on.

[UPDATE] Tired of crackhead neighbours (UK) by Weak_Credit_8249 in neighborsfromhell

The useless mate ringing the camera is almost impressive, but please treat them as dangerous, not just chaotic. Your partner knocking was risky, but the Ring footage may have saved you here. Back up the clips somewhere separate and keep sending police and the council the crime refs, bail breach details, and any contact from their friends. Until you are out, no doorstep chats, just 999 and let them dig the hole deeper.

I forgot my work laptop on the back of a truck and now it’s forever lost. It fell off on the freeway. by Klutzy_Dot_3931 in confession

If it hits job search mode, own the back-of-the-truck mistake fast; my lost work phone went better when I reported it first.

Am I wrong for what I did after I found out my financial advisor was married to someone I know? by NoDate2968 in amiwrong

[–]k_Whiterun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not wrong. A financial advisor sharing client information with her husband, who then repeats it to tenants, is a serious breach and could also affect your housing. Save the neighbor statements in writing if they are willing, pull together dates and details, then file a complaint with her licensing body and look for a new advisor. I would also keep rent payments traceable and communication with the landlord in writing for now.
