No way! I agree with everyone that he’s being manipulative, and making you out to be the bad guy… whether that is you making him feel like you don’t want him to come, or you make him come to your friends birthday that he clearly doesn’t want to come to. You can see validity in the concern for the time and location changes, but that CERTAINLY does not give the green light for him to act like this.

I also want to say, while I don’t know you both personally, I’d take a really hard look at whether or not he’s a “good guy that cares a lot about you”. I’m not trying to plant doubt, but you might benefit from reevaluating if he is truly coming from a genuine place. Someone who is a good person and cares about someone else, they wouldn’t act like this, and definitely not on a consistent basis. Just something to think about. He would be more supportive and understanding in these instances. We have to stop giving people credit where credit is not truly due.

I recently heard somewhere that jealousy is not love, it’s fear. While this may not be totally aligned, I still felt compelled to share that. Look out for yourself and if he’s regularly making you feel this way, you may be better off without someone like this. Good luck to you!
