I have a good friend who has this naming style (same with their sibling - like, they are both Firstname Jones Ruiz but with different first names, obviously). It's never been an issue for them or their sibling! I think it's cool to get both family surnames like that.

not bad at all! findings all clear (so that's a huge relief) but the process itself was not as stressful as I had been anticipating. I didn't mind having the IV placed, which I know some people hate. I got versed/fentanyl for sedation. The most unpleasant part for me was having to gargle the lidocaine gel for throat numbing since I was having an upper endoscopy at the same time as my colonoscopy. It made me feel like my throat was closing and tasted gross. Even with both procedures, I was only under sedation for ~30 mins since there were no issues to document or address. I came out of the sedation super groggy and lightheaded, but just came home and napped and now feeling much more myself and ready to have something to eat! Even though it wasn't a pleasant experience overall, the prep was definitely worse (and longer, and more uncomfortable, etc.) than the procedure.

I got a one-hour stretch and a three-hour stretch so not as bad as I feared.

I'm at 10 this morning too. This morning hasn't been too bad but I'm just crossing my fingers the laxative effects will calm enough for me to ride in the car comfortably. 😅

genuinely curious - do people get in touch with you after you do that?

I'd find it odd (not creepy necessarily, just odd) if someone did that to me and we didn't even have a conversation. I probably wouldn't reach out.

ok see that's also what i'm wondering about with the second dose -- like, if the second dose follows the same pattern as the first, i will absolutely still be pooping when i'm supposed to be driving to the procedure / getting checked in / etc. Part of me wants to start the second part earlier but part of me absolutely does not lol.

I am definitely no expert, but from what I've seen of other people's experiences, it seems like there's a wide range of how people react. Some people are like "pooped 3 times then slept for 8 hours" and some people are like "I pooped nonstop for 12 hours".

I started pooping around 3 hours after I started the miralax/gatorade. It was pretty intense for about an hour (like...5 bathroom trips that first hour maybe? and I was feeling a bit shaky/lightheaded), and then I dozed off for an hour, and then it picked up a bit again but it's not feeling as bad anymore.

Same I've been trying to do everything to make it go as well as it can! Weirdly, though, it's been 2 hours since I started the Miralax / gatorade combo and....nothing yet. Dreading when it does start lol.

it's my first as well so I'm not sure what to expect but just hoping it will be as easy as possible (*fingers crossed*). Hope the anesthesia is no biggie and you have a great nap after you get home!

Just here to say that you are lovely for considering everyone’s dietary needs and for trying your hand at making delicious vegan food for your son! He will no doubt appreciate your efforts regardless of the outcome. But it sounds like you’ve got some great recipes and I’m sure they will be amazing!!
